All American Girl as a concept is familiar to most, but the debut album focuses on darker implications; the self destructive pursuit of perfection, the cannibalistic tendency of mainstream media, and the American dream turned nightmare. However, the message is far from skeptical. Rather, it embraces the less salubrious aspects of the stereotype as a force for artistic expression. The result is a journey which raises more questions than answers. But does it with style.
