Ōtautahi/Christchurch label Echo Train Records returns in 2025 with the release of a double single by Social Sport, his first since the alluring 'Lora/Lexa'. 'Dharma Rats/Flying Brick' is a dive into the producer's forward-thinking approach to electro, techno and UK bass.

'Dharma Rats', featuring label cohort Shli, is a pulsating, drum-heavy heater sure to electrify any floor. 

Of the release, Social Sport shared:

"I didn’t have any reference point for these tracks, the inspiration was more of an image than a sound. I wanted to capture the static electricity of a dark, crowded room, everyone locked in to the flashes of white light.

The first track features a cerebral vocal chop from Tim (Shli), lifted from an unreleased idea we made together about five years ago. Our tight-knit Ōtautahi bass scene is always a subconscious backdrop for my work, so having Shli on the release felt like a meaningful way to close the loop."
