Pasiflorez is a psyché-rock band from Byron Bay, Australia. After releasing their first album Passion Flower, they come back to Nice Guys with their new single ‘1977 Space Board’. Following a sold out gig at Paris cult venue La Boule Noire, Tomode is now dropping their sophomore EP ‘Riviera’. Infusing their Scandinavian melancholy with a hypnotizing warmth, the duo’s new outing features their dreamy vocal harmonies suspended over sun-soaked synthesizers and supported by a vintage disco sound.

”For us, the Riviera is a place where profound natural beauty is entangled with a commercial hollowness. Enjoying a deep orange sunset on cheap plastic furniture. A light coastal breeze with a hint of chlorine. Just beneath the shiny surface flows a melancholic undercurrent that you just can’t seem to escape.” the duo explains.

The EP contains already released singles ‘Conversation Starter’ and ‘Out On The Dunes’ that have garnered over 300 k streams across platforms and have been highlighted by Ones To Watch, This Song Is Sick and Wonderland Magazine, alongside the upcoming final single ‘Bar Phantasmique’ which is released on March 24, the emotive title track ‘Riviera’ and the catchy ‘Don’t Think About It’.

Where the Sun Doesn't Shine

Coastal Elite, a slightly amorphous collective stemming from the sonic cauldron of Sydney’s Personal Best label and it’s coagulating crew of collaborators, release a new track “Runaway” on 08.05.20, this time featuring indie goddess Moody Beach and ex-Porsches front man Carl Fox.

Composed, performed and basically completed in a chaotic, brief and yet super-productive after party session at PB Studios following a Moody Beach gig at the Golden Age, “Runaway” features C.Fox and Ms. Beach cooing gently together about the transcendent possibilities of freedom, escape, love and delayed...or unfulfilled...desire.

Anchored by what turns out to be duelling basses – Fox’s skittish but insistent melodic riff overlaying Moody’s solid pumping underpinning pulse - a delicate bevy of indie-meets funk guitars and some ethereal melodious keyboards from Coastal Elite’s mainmast Josh Beagley provide the requisite dressing to make this a gently insistent pop thing that doesn’t demand your attention but ultimately gets you hooked in the best possible way.

Runaway – at its best, if one really had to describe it– is simply a really nice pop track with tinges of The Bangles, Tame Impala, and even Beach Boys in the phasey outro. It seems to us like a perfect slice of pop escapism in these somewhat confusing times. But we be biased, obvs.
