Poland’s Palmiara lands on NYC’s HOMAGE with the sun-soaked ‘Mt. Paradiso’, backed with a remix from Gerd Janson.

Palmiara, the side project of Poland-based DJ/producer Antoni Sierakowski, brings his first release under the alias to HOMAGE, turning in three colourful originals with Running Back honcho Gerd Janson stepping up for remix duties.

Throughout the EP, Palmiara delivers his kaleidoscopic vision of Balearic pastel tones, crafting feel-good house jams custom-built for the summer. Title cut ‘Mt. Paradiso’ kicks off the release with a barrage of marimbas, scratches, and cheeky synths tied together by a 4/4 rhythm and slap bass before ‘Jaszczurka Zwinka’ follows suit, with loose percussion and guitar licks swirling around soaring organs and twisted acid lines.

On the flip, ‘Surfin’ marries rubbery bass and Latin-esque drums for a playful and off-kilter trip. Taking the B2 spot, Gerd Janson expands on Palmiara’s ‘Surfin’ for his ‘Acid Tribe Balearic Full Moon Mix’, adding squelching low end and glistening pads to the mix for an additional dose of psychedelic house.

Since 2017, HOMAGE have remained a go-to imprint for upfront party sounds. Run by House Of Yes residents Ryan Clover & Fabi Jugo, the label has released music from Cinthie, Kettama, Ben Gomori, Teakup, and more.

Dele Sosimi - You No Fit Touch Am (Medlar Remix) (STW Premiere)

This vinyl EP is a collaboration between Paris label CORRESPONDANT and Germany's GOMMA records. 
Remixes by Los Angeles' finest psychedelic electronic producer SECRET CIRCUIT (Beats in Space records) and German shooting star LAUER (partner of Gerd Janson of Tuff City Kids).

Why this EP? 

Gomma has a long history with the Paris scene. Mathias 'Munk' Modica who runs Gomma (and sublabel Toy Tonics) has been living in France for many years. He worked with many parisian artists from DJ Chloe (on Munk's first album „Aperitivo“ 2004) to the Ed Banger Crew or Black Strobe. Probably apart of Berlin there is no city in the world that saw more Gomma events than Paris. Seems only a project with Jennifer Cardini missed. So Jennifer invited Mathias last year to send over tracks. Decision was made fast. And so „Wurlitzer Wank“ and The „Bösus Bounce“ came out on Correspondant.

The other 2 tracks will come out on Gomma digitally later this year. For now: vinyl only. 

The music: You can somehow call it influenced by psychedelic ideas and the 1990ies Detroit electro funk sound of labels like red planet or Gladio. Analogue instruments, funk loops made on a MPC and weird, sick synthesizer melodies. Reminds of the early Munk productions that had no vocals.

One  year  only  after  the  release  of  his  debut  EP  Déclaration  Préalable  à  l’Embauche,  Tour-Maubourg  quickly  became  one    of  the  most  promising  producers  of  the  French  house  scene  thanks  to  its  music  full  of  melancholic  and  nostalgic  jazzy  house sounds.  After  some  other  releases,  including  EPs  signed  on  FHUO  -  the  label  of  the  no  less  famous  Folamour  -  and  on  the  English  label  FINA  thanks  to  which  he  has  gained  the  support  of  many  artists  such  as  Laurent  Garnier,  Todd  Edwards,  Moomin  or  Osunlade  to  name  a  few,  the  Parisian  producer  is  back  with  a  new  5  tracker  Solitude  Collective.  It  begins  with  “Artifice”,  the  most  lyrical  track  of  this  new  maxi,  which  sounds  as  sweet  as  an  Indian  summer.  “Solitude  Collective”,  the  eponymous  track  of  the  EP,  consists  of  a  single  piano  loop  that  resonates  like  a  scream,  surrounded  by  a  groovy  and  sharp  rhythmic  part.  “Hold  Me”  presents  a  deeply  romantic  track  with  a  sensual  and  funky  bassline  and  vocal  part.  “Albatros”  stands  out  from  the  EP  as  a  contemplative  track,  at  first  dark  and  wobbly,  and  finally  leading  the  listener  to  a  feeling  of  lightness.  Finally,  “1984”  comes  to  end  this  new  maxi  with  a  closing  as  smooth  as  cold,  like  a  slight  manifest  of  love  and  criticism.
