PELIKAAN is a French producer who has built his musical project across the capitals of
Europe he has had the luck to call home: Paris, London, Madrid and today Rome.
With his music, PELIKAAN invites the listener to fly along on a quest for sound, a journey
that the artist wishes to be exploratory and spiritual - but most importantly, fun.
Being somebody who's never been too keen on putting things into well-labelled boxes, his
style remains undefined, lying somewhere between downtempo, trip-hop and electronica,
but not hesitating to take inspiration from other genres.
Arbitrary Impressions will be PELIKAAN's second EP. With this work, the artist intends to
draw a musical self-portrait, with each track representing a certain aspect of life.
We Were Young can be seen as a nostalgic homage to time passing by. Both chilled with its
bouncy baseline and wild with its airy arpeggios, the track is meant as an unapologetic
celebration of the energy of youth, with all its candour and stubbornness alike.
Ghost is a wink at the opportunities that we believe to get permanently closed as we make
our way through life. It starts with a solid groove to hang onto, like a window on the horizon.
But halfway through, everything seems to collapse before the exploding into a new energy,
reminding us that nothing is fixed and new paths can always be open.
Treasures is an invitation to gratitude, to enjoy what life has brung to us so far and what
more is to be discovered. The track follows repetitive rhythmic arpeggios that accelerate
periodically, like waves crashing on a beach, with each one of them leaving behind its dose
of inspiration and experience, like little treasures that one should learn to cherish.
Rain Dance is a celebration of the most unexpected aspects of life, it starts with a steady
beat over bass drones but suddenly opens to synth-wave style arpeggios, mixing elements
that have little to do together in appearance to create something entirely new.
Finally, Rabbit Hole represents a dive into the divine, when the inspiration strikes and we get
in the zone. With its extra long break, this track intentionally doesn't respect the standards
of electronic music production, as an ultimate reminder that rules are here to be broken.

In a land veiled by eternal twilight and whispered old legends, where the sky weaves tales in vibrant colors and the snow underfoot holds the echoes of grand battles, a musical journey of warriors, kings, and queens begins.

A place where proud warriors march in shining armor beneath the low-hanging sun, their blades gleaming in stark contrast to the clear cold of the North. Amidst this chilling landscape stands a majestic castle, inhabited by a king and queen whose love and rule are as steadfast as the mountains surrounding their home.

But in this world of power and intrigue, it's the women – the mothers, sisters, and lovers of these brave warriors – who, through their mystical powers, shield their men. Every song they sing is a spell granting their beloveds strength. Every tear they shed is an enchantment keeping their foes at bay.

The spirits of the past, fallen heroes, and heroic queens whisper tales of epic battles, of love stronger than death, and of an ancient curse that can only be broken by the magic of the northern women.

Yet amid battle and sorcery, there are moments of stillness when time seems to stand still. In these magical instants, as day meets night, shadows fill the skies and play out the chronicles of the land.

The embrace of the North, mysterious and icy, is not just a physical chill but a mystical force that safeguards warriors and sustains kingdoms. And in this cold, both protective and challenging, the true power of the North is revealed.

In einem Land, verhüllt von ewiger Dämmerung und dem Flüstern alter Legenden, wo der Himmel Geschichten in Farben webt und der Schnee unter deinen Füßen die Echos großer Schlachten festhält, beginnt eine musikalische Reise der Krieger, Könige und Königinnen.

Ein Ort, an dem stolze Krieger in glänzenden Rüstungen unter der tief hängenden Sonne marschieren, ihre Schwerter im sanften Kontrast zur klaren Kälte des Nordens glänzen. Inmitten dieser kühlen Landschaft steht ein majestätisches Schloss, bewohnt von einem König und einer Königin, deren Liebe und Herrschaft ebenso unerschütterlich sind wie die Berge, die ihre Heimat umgeben.

Doch in dieser Welt voller Macht und Intrigen sind es die Frauen – die Mütter, Schwestern und Liebhaber dieser mutigen Krieger –, die durch ihre mystischen Kräfte ihre Männer beschützen. After traveling the waters of the Black Sea, my third journey into the sunset took me between the mysterious hills of the Black Valley where the rain danced with the river streams. The most challenging trip so far combining gems with different dynamics and tempos into one harmonious spell. It took a while to bend the sound but in the end... it all turned to fire.

Tolga Maktay is the rising sun after the dark end of a sleepless night. This is his first offering for Shango Records. These two tracks can give you light and good feelings. PBP Records present their third single this time by Mexican talent Javali bringing his dark and organic vibe to us.

The track title translates to “Darkness was never so Bright” which invites us to see inside us and recognize the darkness that exists within us. That is the first step to finding your light. You must use that light to glimpse what is within the dark, as a guide, as a teacher, where everything becomes apparent and clear. That’s where you realize the Darkness has never been so bright.

This single is accompanied by two incredible remixes by PBP Records member Alef Nun (Mexico City) and also one from Dereva (Hamburg) each one made with their own point of view and creation.

A nossa região comum é a música da natureza, os cantos escondidos da Terra e o som que ecoa com o silêncio. 

A paz e a sinergia dão lugar aos novos rituais eletrônicos. A expressão cultural abre espaço pra conversa com a pluralidade. 


English: The Tropical Twista Records presents its second compilation, gathering artists for a musical journey through cultural and sonorous experimentations. In this record we present 15 tracks of big artists from Brazil, Argentina, China, United States and Germany, harmonically permeating and creating a context of latin, african, brazilian and oriental themes, sharing a scenario where music and ethnical plurality influentiate our relation with the environment. 

Each work offers a certain impression of the new electronic art, either travelling through already consecrated aesthetics or pursuing new possible paths. 

The meeting point is the conquer of a new space where rhythms and cultural expressions go further beyond the regional sphere. 

Our common region is the music of the nature, the hidden chants of the Earth and the sound that echoes with the silence. 

The peace and the synergy give way to the new electronic rituals. The cultural expression open space to a dialogue with the plurality.
