"The first time i heard Cardopusher's music was in Rennes with my friend Frank Rotator. Frank told me he was contacted by a venezuelian guy who fell in love with breakcore. I remember i was very surprising and thought "woua, incredible! a breakcore third world producer" hahaha! Later, after our Trash'N'ready tour all around Europe, Luis became a real friend and i was impressed by the quality of his music, his great sensibility and curiosity and his ferocious attitude towards beat manipulation.

This is the title track from the ep

Roel Funcken - the Candarian Ruins ep 

Its a Collection of 7 tracks all made in the last couple of months. They were all attached to different projects but didn’t make the final cut but somehow really have a nice fit together and gives the listener a glimpse of the different projects i was working on. The title comes from the classic cult movie Evil Dead which i recently re-watched, i just really like the sound of those words. 

1	Jimbacrinus Crinoid

An ambient track made in the period of the promethean plunder area,  The base of it is generated in ableton with a bunch of generative plugins. 

2	Dalanx Phemonto

This is the second last track i made, very idm ish funck style going on, with 87 bpm 7/4 measure. Hint, this is the opening track of the recent mix i did for Analogical Force. 

3	Coprinellus Disseminatus

This one is a bit older, most of the melodies are generated with the newfangled audio plugin called generate which uses Chaotic synthesis, with give the chords a very distinctive character. 

4	Gorreliann plasebant 2

Also is made around the Promethean Plunder area, i really aimed to do a bit of a Tim Hecker, Autechre type ambient track. Think especially there is a bit of a Hecker vibe going on because of a particular sound that i synthesised. Part 1 is the short version in available trough my Funckd subscription. 

5	Goff Mideon

I sampled a Harp from somewhere, pitched it down a whole lot, cutted it into a million pieces and rearranged it, added beat and bass and voila. 

6	The Candarian Ruins

The Title track is also in the Analogical Force mix. Its a pretty uplifting dance track, lots of arpeggios, kick, snare idm beat in the background and Bass. 

7	Clash Ollson

Completely Generative, with a free bundle that comes with Ableton 11. Its a real fun way to generate ideas quickly.

After presenting the acclaimed special reissue of 'A Midsummer Nice Dream" in 2019, today Christopher Scott Leary aka @ochre returns to Lapsus' Perennial Series with 'Lemodie (15th Anniversary Edition)'.

2021 marks 15 years since the original release of 'Lemodie' on Scottish label Benbecula in 2006, and to celebrate the release’s fifteenth anniversary Lapsus Records is pressing a special collector’s edition of this IDM classic for the first time on vinyl.

'Lemodie (15th Anniversary Edition)' includes a double marbled vinyl, a full-colour print and a brand new artwork redesigned by Portland (Oregon) illustrator Nathaniel Reeves, who has worked alongside Ochre over the last decade. In addition, this special reissue also features six previously unreleased tracks from the 'Lemodie' era –four bonus on its vinyl version and six on its digital version–.

Cardopusherの楽しそうな顔が目に浮かぶ、これだけハードなアルバムなのに一聴してこぼれる感想が「楽しそう」なのだから不思議なアルバムだ。この音楽は簡単に言うとBreakcoreに分類されている音楽のようだ。Breakcore系のサウンドは、シーンによっては(しかも結構栄えているシーンで)既存のジャンル名に当てはまらないちょっと過激なそんな音を、まるごとBreakcore・場合によってはNu Raveとしてゴッチャに分類していたりするようだ。そりゃあ勿論この呼称カテゴリーを全て当たって行けば、「えぇ！？このアーティストまでBreakcoreって言っちゃうの！？Nu Raveって言っちゃうの！？」みたいなものも溢れているけれど、なんだかみんな適当だし、あんまり真面目に分類する気もないみたいだし、もちろん私にもないのだ。
Breakcoreという言葉はとても便利だ。誤解を恐れずに言えば、なんだかよくわからない過激サウンドはみんなBreakcoreだ。ここは最終出力としてのジャンルのルツボであり、何といってもルーツのルツボなのである。少なくともBreakcoreはTrance/Hardcoreといったスタイルとは異なり、ベーシックテンプレートの存在しない音楽だと言えるはずだ。ある程度のテンプレートが存在すれば、楽曲構成がこうで・シンセの種類がこうで、みたいな暗黙の了解は勿論のこと、案外みんな音楽のルーツが一緒だったりする状況が自然と生まれたりするものだ。でもBreakcoreにはこれといったテンプレートがない、最終出力として世界中のアーティストが捻り出すそれは確実に「Breakcore」なのだけれど、一人一人のサウンドから全く異なるルーツを見出すことが出来る。まあそんな嘘っぽいジャンル話はこれぐらいにして、、
改めて書くと、Cardopusherのこのアルバムは実に楽しそうなアルバムなのだ。このアルバムからはCardopusherのあらゆるルーツが、歪みつくしたブレイクビーツ・ガバキックに載せられ実に愉快に飛び込んでくる。何故、これ程まで激しい音を愉快に感じてしまうのだろうか？一聴して耳に残るラガ・ボイスのせいかしら？勿論それもあるのだろうけれど、このアルバムから発せられる楽しさはもっともっとストレートかつ全面的なものだ。ああ、Cardopusherの音には迷いがないのだ。彼は「見てくれよコレ！面白いだろ！」と言わんばかりに、私達に向けて自らのルーツを詰め込んだおもちゃ箱を全力で投げ飛ばして来るのだ。しかもそのおもちゃ箱はなんだか知らないがガチャポンみたいなモノが満載だったらしく、私達にはただそこに居るだけで次から次へとCardopusherサウンドが転がり込んでくるという訳だ。そして向こう側に見えるのはCardopusherの全開の笑み、これが愉快でなくて何なのだろう。そしてその一直線な意欲は見ての通りのダイナミックなサウンドで・見ての通りのハイクオリティで・見ての通りの新鮮さで私達にぶつかってくる。
ガチャボンうんぬんはともかくとして、誰もが愉快に、そしてハードに踊れるアルバムが出来上がった訳だ。これを読んでいるあなたがまだ体験していないのだとしたら、是非Cardopusherのおもちゃ箱に飛び込んで欲しい。愉快だ！実に愉快だよCardopusher！

Cardopusherの楽しそうな顔が目に浮かぶ、これだけハードなアルバムなのに一聴してこぼれる感想が「楽しそう」なのだから不思議なアルバムだ。この音楽は簡単に言うとBreakcoreに分類されている音楽のようだ。Breakcore系のサウンドは、シーンによっては(しかも結構栄えているシーンで)既存のジャンル名に当てはまらないちょっと過激なそんな音を、まるごとBreakcore・場合によってはNu Raveとしてゴッチャに分類していたりするようだ。そりゃあ勿論この呼称カテゴリーを全て当たって行けば、「えぇ！？このアーティストまでBreakcoreって言っちゃうの！？Nu Raveって言っちゃうの！？」みたいなものも溢れているけれど、なんだかみんな適当だし、あんまり真面目に分類する気もないみたいだし、もちろん私にもないのだ。
Breakcoreという言葉はとても便利だ。誤解を恐れずに言えば、なんだかよくわからない過激サウンドはみんなBreakcoreだ。ここは最終出力としてのジャンルのルツボであり、何といってもルーツのルツボなのである。少なくともBreakcoreはTrance/Hardcoreといったスタイルとは異なり、ベーシックテンプレートの存在しない音楽だと言えるはずだ。ある程度のテンプレートが存在すれば、楽曲構成がこうで・シンセの種類がこうで、みたいな暗黙の了解は勿論のこと、案外みんな音楽のルーツが一緒だったりする状況が自然と生まれたりするものだ。でもBreakcoreにはこれといったテンプレートがない、最終出力として世界中のアーティストが捻り出すそれは確実に「Breakcore」なのだけれど、一人一人のサウンドから全く異なるルーツを見出すことが出来る。まあそんな嘘っぽいジャンル話はこれぐらいにして、、
改めて書くと、Cardopusherのこのアルバムは実に楽しそうなアルバムなのだ。このアルバムからはCardopusherのあらゆるルーツが、歪みつくしたブレイクビーツ・ガバキックに載せられ実に愉快に飛び込んでくる。何故、これ程まで激しい音を愉快に感じてしまうのだろうか？一聴して耳に残るラガ・ボイスのせいかしら？勿論それもあるのだろうけれど、このアルバムから発せられる楽しさはもっともっとストレートかつ全面的なものだ。ああ、Cardopusherの音には迷いがないのだ。彼は「見てくれよコレ！面白いだろ！」と言わんばかりに、私達に向けて自らのルーツを詰め込んだおもちゃ箱を全力で投げ飛ばして来るのだ。しかもそのおもちゃ箱はなんだか知らないがガチャポンみたいなモノが満載だったらしく、私達にはただそこに居るだけで次から次へとCardopusherサウンドが転がり込んでくるという訳だ。そして向こう側に見えるのはCardopusherの全開の笑み、これが愉快でなくて何なのだろう。そしてその一直線な意欲は見ての通りのダイナミックなサウンドで・見ての通りのハイクオリティで・見ての通りの新鮮さで私達にぶつかってくる。
ガチャボンうんぬんはともかくとして、誰もが愉快に、そしてハードに踊れるアルバムが出来上がった訳だ。これを読んでいるあなたがまだ体験していないのだとしたら、是非Cardopusherのおもちゃ箱に飛び込んで欲しい。愉快だ！実に愉快だよCardopusher！
