Mental Distortion was formed in 2015. Based on classic 90ties death metal the guys present a mixture of down-tuned death metal riffs, blastbeats, doom and shrieking lead guitar. On top of that you get screaming death metal vocals. 2019 Mental Distortion played on the Breeding Festival No. 5 in Flensburg and as support for Agnostic Front. They brought out the Death Is Your Fate-Demo 2018 and the Shred Them EP 2020. After Lineup-Changes Mental Distortion now has four members.  With the new lineup they recorded the Faces of Death EP 2023. A live recording, with no overdubs. In March 2023 Mental Distortion played support for Decapitated. The band takes its name serious: According to the cognitive model of Aaron T. Beck, a negative outlook on reality is a factor in symptoms of emotional dysfunction. During difficult circumstances, these distorted thoughts can contribute to an overall negative outlook on the world and a depressive or anxious mental state. And the lyrics of Mental Distortion keep that promise: You get insane perpetrators of violence, suicide bombers, consumerism, doomsday visions, war, death and pain. So if you want a beautiful perfect world you better fuck off and buy the next Helene Fischer album. But if you like a good old-school death metal kick in your ass: Listen to Mental Distortion!
