The convention was kind enough to have me perform sets on both Friday and Saturday night, but the way that this Saturday Night set turned out was something I was REALLY happy with - enough to make it the first mix uploaded on here in almost a year!

Such an amazing night! I'm happy that I've made my return to DJing. <3

Mesmerist - Ohayocon 2023

Finished the first song I've worked on in two months. This is such a different vibe from before but it's what I'm feeling right now. It's a flip of "Tom's Diner" by Suzanne Vega. Her original song based on her photographer friend talking about being witness to things but not being involved in them. I wanted to give her vocals a new context that is about being frozen and pining for a person you've only just seen or met in that moment.

I've been looking for this song since Sister Act 2 was released in 1993. (Just like so many others along with me.)
No matter how much we wanted it and how many of us wanted it, unfortunately, over the past 30+ years, nothing has changed, and this track hasn't been officially released.

There have been some amazing attempts to recreate the track, but it's very difficult to capture the original "vibe".
But finally, i think, with the help of AI, i was able to create a version that's really close to the music which i wanted to listen since i was a child.
This is NOT the best version, but, because of the AI, i think this is the closest to the original.
Sadly i could not figure out the lyrics, so, except the chorus, the rest was also written by AI, and was "polished" by me.

It took me a lot of time to create this, especially the vocals in the end, BUT all of the credits goes to the AI's that i used.
