Our fourth release comes from Ogris Debris, part of the Affine family (home of Dorian Concept and Cid Rim) and an internationally acclaimed producer duo from Vienna. Combining cutting-edge digital production with finest ingredients of Techno and House, Ogris Debris create a unique brand of dance music that is widely acknowledged as innovative by the global scene.

For this release, Ogris Debris deliver a UK-Bass influenced, chord-driven primetime House stomper, somewhat different to their previous releases. On the B-side, Hyperdub's Grime and Funky don Scratcha DVA eases the rhythm with his rolling bassline sound for a weighty DJ tool track, while The Clonious diverts the energy with his soulfull keyboard skills and swinging drums into an infectious late-summer Future Funk affair.

Future Shock was a 2hr mix that DJ Food cooked up for an online 'pirate' radio station a couple of friends set up earlier this year called Altar Ego Radio. Billed as 'Music from the Future you remember from your Past', he mixed sci-fi electronica with a retro feel from Jokers of the Scene, Falty DL. The Books, Sculpture, Nico Motte and Jeremy Schmidt. Here's the first hour, exclusively sans the chat of the original broadcast which was hosted like a regular radio show. Much like his recent Magpie Music mix of a few weeks ago he intends to expand on these themes in forthcoming Future Shock mixes focussing on the more electronic side of his current tastes. He might have only landed his first releases in 2014, but in just a few years Murder He Wrote has made more than an impact on the UK’s fertile bass scene. In this short time he’s become pretty infamous for playing a particularly weighty range of club ready tracks. Fusing elements of garage, hip-hop, dancehall and funky, it’s music driven by its eclectic nature, while its ties also lie firmly in the UK. Having signed for two releases last year, Murder He Wrote has recently found somewhat of a home on Roska Kicks & Snares, meanwhile he’s also garnered support from UK veterans Toddla T and Zinc.  

With his FABRICLIVE debut on 10th March just around the corner, he dropped this fresh mix for us to demonstrate the broad spectrum of his musical world.

Meet James Ongley AKA Murder He Wrote: self-proclaimed mystery writer and amateur detective by day, prodigal son of UK Funky by night. While we haven't had the chance to research any of his investigative work or read any of his novels, his all-star status in the UK Funky community and beyond as a producer, DJ, and label-head certainly speaks for itself. After a few standout early releases on Roska's Kicks and Snares imprint and big mixes for outlets like Fabric, Rinse FM, and BBC Radio One, James continued to solidify himself as a beacon of influence and taste making in the scene with his own exciting new label Rhythm Athletic. His productions stand out with a degree of smoothness that can be rare and difficult to achieve in an erratic rhythmic pattern like UK funky's. Where his peers often rely too heavily on excessive percussion, James' beats fall right into place without trying to do too much.

I think this mix changes tempo 5 or 6 times in 30 minutes and it goes through all sorts of styles and sub-genres. Trap, Moombahton, House and just flat-out cool and weird music.
