In the predawn twilight, two sworn enemies drew their katanas in the arena of the Stone Spirit. The grins of straight teeth flashed as sparks in the clots of darkness, lurking under warriors helmets. Finally, the hour has come. Two warring clans will determine which of them is more powerful. Their leaders will fight in battle, after which only one will leave the Arena. Katana blades flickered through the air like the wings of intangible metal dragonflies, reflecting the glare of gas lanterns. Shouts of rage cut through the silence of the night.
