Viper have always been known as a label that has actively sought out new talent to bring to the spotlight; their strength comes from both a diverse roster, a constant stream of fresh talent, and some of the scene’s most respected veterans, all in one place. With names like Metrik, Fred V & Grafix, ShockOne, Delta Heavy, Sigma, Nero, DC Breaks, and more all starting their career on the prolific label, there’s no question label-boss Futurebound has a knack for discovering diamonds in the rough.

Following Viper’s newest mystery signee Giganti, Futurebound has just signed another talented newcomer to the label, this time going by the name of Millbrook. 
Millbrook is no stranger to releasing killer music; a look into his past will provide insight how he cut his teeth writing and releasing drum and bass under previous alias Vacuum. With an impressive amount of support and airtime from the likes of Bassnectar, Noisia, DJ Hype, Camo & Krooked and Glitch Mob already under his belt, Michel Losch, aka Millbrook, is now ready to elevate his sound to the next level in a new partnership with Viper.

Making a remarkable introduction for himself, ‘The Rise’ is the first taste of the Luxembourg based producer’s rebrand. Written with the talented Vorso and featuring industry favourite Mad Hed City on vocals, ‘The Rise’ is a raw, gritty, pounding masterpiece with a drop that is guaranteed to leave jaws on the floor. A charming intro melody quickly evolves into something much more sinister, emotion, followed by pure adrenaline, pumping from Mad Hed City’s iconic voice before breaking down into something minimal, funky, and all around technically brilliant. 
The flip side of the single gives us a glimpse at Millbrook’s much more elegant side – a cinematic opening teases at his sound design ability while introducing a variety of power-packed chords for an instantly memorable tune. Delivering a different kind of funk with the drop, Millbrook has certainly proven he is a force to be reckoned with with this release.

A celebration of the label’s diversity, Millbrook’s introductory release promises a lot more to look forward to. Keep your eyes peeled for more from Millbrook this year, alongside Viper’s growing roster of new and formidable talent.

Mainframe Recordings main-man DisasZt returns to the imprint he heads up, fresh off the back of this latest release on the mighty Ram Records, with a summer-ready rumbler destined to cast an undeniable glow of glorious uplifting energy.

DisasZt is already well-known for his part in the creation of Mainframe Recordings, the Viennese record label which was born from an events brand, one of the most beloved in the Europe. Time and time again both the brand and their live events have welcomed a plethora of talent into their midst, helping to debut new artists as well as those who are already established. This continues with their forthcoming release, with DisasZt himself leading the charge, showing where this A&R flex originated from. Nu:Tone is a name that instinctively populates in a seasoned drum & bass brain upon hearing the words Hospital Records. With five solo studio albums to boast, as well as a wealth of singles and EPs, Nu:Tone’s tracks can always be heard across dancefloors and throughout the festival circuit. Since joining the Hospital Records A&R team and setting up his own mixing and mastering business his ‘own music took a bit of a backseat’. It’s been six long years since Nu:Tone’s seminal ‘Future History’ album in 2014 and now Hospital is thrilled to present the creative mastery that is ‘Little Spaces’.

Ever the tastemaker, Nu:Tone has been at the forefront of guiding and bringing through the next generation of artists, particularly focused on collaborating with new and previously unheard vocalists in drum & bass, placing them at the heart of the songwriting process which is beautifully demonstrated on ‘Little Spaces’. Embodying his classic sound and drawing influence from the iconic Korg M1 synth, One Day At A Time features stunning harmonies from Lalin St. Juste, based out of the San Francisco Bay Area where she also heads up the genre-bending six-piece band The Seshen. Nu:Tones’ long-standing collaborative relationship with Lea Lea has been refreshed, with two features on the album on ‘Instincts’ and ‘The Moment’.

‘Jonas’ brings old-school flavours into 2021 with a slick introduction infused with half-time breaks, before cutting to the chase as some of the most meticulously crafted drums and a killer bassline take centre stage.

Hazy arpeggios and twinkling chimes set the scene on ‘Sleepwalker’ which sees two liquid drum & bass legends join forces. Pairing up with Charlotte Haining who delivers her signature anthemic vocal style, skippy breaks and pressing bass lays the foundation for a truly remarkable collaboration of two highly esteemed artists.

‘Instincts (feat. Lea Lea)’ sees soulful synth stabs from the off, a clear nod to Nu:Tone’s love for house music, before Lea Lea injects sinister amounts of groove with her commendable vocal abilities. Expect stripped back dexterity in signature Nu:Tone fashion, this one means business.

A mainstay of Hospital Records since 2003, Nu:Tone’s contribution to both the label and the wider drum & bass has been highly commendable. From his debut album ‘Brave Nu World’ in 2005 to new-wave anthems such as ‘Everlasting Days (feat. Lifford)’ produced alongside his brother and fellow label legend Logistics, and remixes for the likes of Adele, Emeli Sande and Plan B, Nu:Tone’s music has welcomed support from an array of legends like LTJ Bukem, Annie Mac, Andy C, High Contrast, Sigma, Sub Focus, Norman Jay, Marcus Intalex, Bryan Gee, DJ Marky, and Laurent Garnier to name but a few.
