Hjärngymnastik 300: Dyslipoproteinemisk Kryssningsbokning med Mihail P

Hailing from Vinica, a small town in East Macedonia, Mihail P (@mihailpetrovski) is part of a new generation of artists re-forging a vision of classical techno in their own mould. A student of Architecture and Design in his mid twenties, he grew up with sounds of Vangelis, Kraftwerk, Jean Michael Jarre, Pink Floyd emanating from the home stereo – which has no doubt played a part in shaping the resonance of his musical taste.

After discovering the sounds of UK and Detroit Techno courtesy of Timeline Radio and the Estimuloshow, over the last couple of years he’s struck solid links and friendships with Paul Rimbaud from Distant Worlds, Domenic Cappello and Verdant boss Andy Green who have all played a part in giving him a platform to develop his sound. In turn, exposing him to ever increasing circles and genres of music that he likes to immerse himself in. Between his studies and making music, Mihail likes to draw, especially using black and white ink – having found his way with the technique from quite a young age – it’s a hobby he also likes to indulge as much as he can.

Alongside the drawing, he does a lot of graphic design as a freelancer. As he puts it: “I’m a sucker for a good conceptual design, and am really into beautifully crafter records with sleeve art”.

The next mix in my series comes from my first international guest, Mihail P. An awesome DJ and selector with releases on labels such as Distant Worlds, Ferox, Seventh Sign, Verdant Recordings, Magnonic Signals, WWM, Nebulae Records, Prisoner Of Sound Records and Propersound Records. The internet brought us together and I have been playing some of his tracks so I'm very excited to present this mix.

Coming from a small town in East Macedonia called Vinica. Mihail grew up listening to his father's records like Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, La Bionda, Pink Floyd. He started DJing at about 15–16 years old, and  started producing very soon after that. He was always drawn by the more deeper side of house and techno and believes that it is also evident in his own productions too. UK techno and Detroit were his main inspirations. Mihail Petrovski, better known musically as Mihail P, hails from Vinica, a small town in Eastern Macedonia. As part of a new generation of artists redefining classical techno, he is carving his own path through the genre. Mihail's musical taste was shaped early on by the sounds of pioneers like Vangelis, Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre, and Pink Floyd, whose melodies filled his childhood home.

His journey into electronic music deepened after discovering UK and Detroit Techno through Timeline Radio and the Estimuloshow. Over the past few years, he has built strong connections and friendships with figures such as Paul Rimbaud of Distant Worlds, Domenic Cappello of Seventh Sign Recordings, and Andy Green of Verdant. These collaborations have provided Mihail with opportunities to develop his sound, while also exposing him to a wider range of genres and musical influences that continue to fuel his creativity.
