Chubby!'s 94th broadcast is here for your pleasure and it features one of Australia's pride and joy, local hero, Adam Strömstedt. Adam has attracting new fans in Scandinavia, Australia, Sweden and beyond since 2007 with his involvement in many labels and parties. In 2007 with the launch of Red Balloon summer parties in Stockholm and his strong affiliation with Junk Yard Connections. Banoffee Pies Records and his own label, Lyssna Records. Releases have hit those imprints along with Bossmusic and most recently Gestalt Records out of Estonia. Adam seems to have his hand in any project that can help push the sound he loves. Spearheading a local radio show called 'Always Sometimes' on Orbital Radio Sydney, a project where he can push the boundaries of his collection and selection even further. Adam is an eclectic talent who's diverse selection mirror's his own production direction and personality. Classy is an understatement on the decks, blending a forever soundtrack of sunset and sunrise beauties that balance nightlife with an upbeat but soothing daytime. Adam has a new album coming out on Kann Records in just a few weeks so keep an eye and ear out for that one!

Cosmic Simmering is a very personal new album of unreleased material from Chris Gray on Saft. The 13 track album has been composed of previously lost archives, restored DAT tapes and old CDs and it plots the musical evolution of one of house music's most underrated artists.

Gray has been producing since the mid-nineties, and in that time has crafted some seminal moments in deep house. He's landed on a range of labels, but most often Saft or his own Deep4Life. He has put out seven superb long players that explore a rich palette of moods and grooves, and this latest is another adventurous collection that travels far and wide into rhythm and sound. 

Work on this album started in March 2020 when Chris started digging around in his archives. Some of what he found was sketched in the late 80s, while other tracks were written a few months after Chris moved to Chicago and was living in his uncle's south side attic in early 1993. There are also some cuts from 1995 onwards which have been salvaged from deteriorating DAT tapes after a friend of Chris fixed his player. There is also a selection of early 2000s deep4life material taken from 20-year-old backups on cheap CDs, all brought back to life for this record.

Cosmic Simmering is a beautifully widescreen album that works equally on mind, body and spirit.

It’s research in programming and patching, combined with creative experiments, playing with time, space and letting go of song forms and structures. It’s about creating sound-collages that make you see the sounds and textures like a painting.

I will perform this series throughout the year, with a live-video and a release of each track.

He's been a favourite since we first heard about him via his lush productions & remixes on Help Recordings and 2 Bit Crew as well as part of Regelbau outfit Hi Mount (along with Central and DJ Sports), then last year he followed it up with an EP on Multiplex and this year he launched his own imprint Horizon with a stunning opening release by himself, sounding the realms between ambient, electro, downtempo and deepest house and a 2nd EP by DJ Essence just about to be released.
