Here's the full live set recording from my monthly residency at Afterlight with special guest Sokotta on Oct. 18th, 2022. We had so much fun going b2b throughout the night!

Sokotta’s distinctive sound is all about the underground. His musical ethos fluctuates between groovy house and bass beats, and a flare for female vocals. He has an affinity for ‘mature wubs’, a term he proudly coined. 

Hidden in an Ottawa heritage building, afterlight is an underground lounge & listening bar curated by some of the Canadian Capital's most prominent DJs. Opening exclusively on week nights with a variety of cocktails, natural wines, and snacks, a neighbourly place, and an ideal destination for downtowners after sunset.

This session is mixed by Julia Poly who is an artist signed to Pukka Up, Suka, Dear Deer records and also as Beatport Top 100 techhouse chart artist.

Beginning her career in her native Ukraine, she’s since called Eqypt and Dubai home, playing at some of the hottest bars and clubs across the Middle East.

After conquering the local scene in Kiev, she took her headphones and her encyclopedic record collection to Eqypt, where she headed up the Terrazzina Beach Club, alongside regular slots at hedonistic joints Hed Kandi and Pacha in Sharm-el-Shekih.

Now based in Dubai for more than 5 years, she’s held residencies at UAE hot-spots Apres, LaLuz, and the stunning Atlantis The Palm lounge Yuan, as well as the more laidback Cuba Lounge.

When it comes to production, Julia’s real passion is club-ready house music. She’s released several high profile records including 2014’s ‘Live And Die in LA’ as well as tracks on America’s Heavenly Bodies Records and French label Suka. And mainstream success came calling last year when her free download ‘Sunrise on Mars’ went viral with support from all over the world.

In summer 2017 her “We are Future” EP on Dear Deer White (sub-label of Dear Deer records) landed in Beatport Progressive house Chart under the number 64. Release gained support from such international DJs as Eelke Kleijn, Philipp Kempnich, Marst, Unders, Max Graham, Marco Carola, Eddie Halliwell, Blake Jarrell, Matt Darey, Joseph Capriati, Pauke Schaumburg, Th Moy, Soul Button, Judge Jules, Padai and many more: yet more proof that Julia Poly is taking her sound global.

NOVVAMUSIK is a Portuguese-Italian music producer and DJ born in Brazil. 

He started the first residency at Zuma (US) in addition to playing at private events in Europe, North America, South America and Asia.

House, Deep House and Electro House music sets with strong global influence. A mix of Eastern and Western styles creating complex and layered beats.

During the last 11 years he established permanent residency in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Jakarta, London, Boston, Singapore and Manila.

NOVVAMUSIK latest gigs includes DJ Residency at 1880 Singapore,  Ritual Beach Club Bali, Zegna F1 Gran Prix Party, SailGP Singapore, 360 Nightclub in Istanbul.
