The Nuwuvi or Southern Paiute tribe are also called Nuwu.  An ancient valley of springs and mesquite forests was the winter homeland of “the People,” who often spent the summers in the mountains.  This oasis of meadows became a popular stop on the old Spanish trail.  The Nuwuvi still reside in the area known as “Las Vegas.”

But there is a robustness and resonance to these sounds that sets the tracks apart, and justifies a higher quality standard. “No Light” bears a profound example: there is a familiar, heavy, mid-range synth that tends to sound crude and crunchy, but in this track, the common element exudes a rich substance that adds surprising gravity to the tune.
