Hey there! I am an acoustic guitarist who started to play in high school and definitely have been influenced by the major "J"s in music. The "J"s being, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, and Jeremy Camp. I am in the process of getting my music out there and hopefully finding my niche musically.

David Meulen picks up his scratched, trustworthy acoustic guitar. – he’s been playing it for a long time now. The sound it emits is both percussive and melodic all at once, the perfect combination for his unique hard-hitting acoustic rock style. This is the sound he has found, and he’s ready to share it with the world.

At age 17 David started alternative rock band Dividable Grand with high school friends, and performed with the group for a couple of years. A fair amount of success followed with DG performing alongside some of the biggest acts in South Africa, including Prime Circle, aKing, Taxi Violence and many more. Television appearances, festival performances and extensive radio play followed and led to the band recording with top South African producer Theo Crous.

Using the experience gained from this, David branched out to other genres and started focusing on his solo career.
The first thing he did was embark on a lone road trip, bringing only his guitar and essentials. The purpose of this? Songwriting. Starting again from scratch, building up from nothing.

Preparations for live shows followed, and you could feel the excitement building. He is a man on a mission, and that mission is music.

Once he was sure he had the tracks perfected, he approached Brendyn Rossouw of Heritage Sound studios, and together they crafted an album that would do the songs justice. 
The minimalistic @davidmeulen features an eclectic mix of well-known artists. Legendary Johnny Clegg Band drummer Barry Van Zyl and virtuoso Dirty Skirts bassist Maurice Paliaga came in to provide rhythm sections for a few of the tracks. The lonesome Blues Harp king Dave Ferguson appears on the bluesy tracks. Double-bass, piano and accordion add to the unique sound of the album, which was released 24 April 2014.

David’s passion for music can be traced back to when he discovered The Beatles at the age of six. “I love The Beatles. They make me utterly happy. I first heard a song of theirs on the radio and I was sold – this was a good 30 years after they broke up! I started playing guitar a week later. This is what I’d love to create, I thought – something that lasts and inspires.” 
He should probably have been a sixties man. Walking into his home you’ll often hear the turntable belting out Hendrix or Dylan while he jams happily along, the greats watching from the psychedelic posters that cover his walls. Occasionally he grabs his Gibson Les Paul, nudging the volume knob up suspiciously often, singing along as loud as humanly possible.

And this is what you can expect from a live show by David Meulen. Joining him on stage, drummer Jay Latter and bassist Kyle Dijkstra provide a vibe leaving you with a strong urge to sing, dance, and no choice but to have a good time. The trio will be gigging throughout 2014.

Michael Shoup has been working full time in the music industry since 2004.  He has been featured as a spotlight performer at highly coveted showcase slots at SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX as well as the CMJ Music Marathon in New York City. Michael has toured with The Stone Temple Pilots and has worked with artists such as Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, and Kelly Clarkson. Michael's music is genuine and melodically timeless. He has even made an impression on Steven Schwartz (composer and lyricist of the musical, Wicked) who flew Shoup to his home in Los Angeles to perform a cover of "Defying Gravity."

“Personally, I like to think of my music as one part Jackson Browne, one part Hall & Oates, two big scoops of everything I heard from my stereo in the ’90s, and a sprinkling of Sesame Street optimism,” Shoup says of his songwriting.  Whether from his own life or taken directly from a fan suggestion, few artists' songs can connect directly with their fans as much as Michael Shoup's. After releasing his debut solo album, “Learning How To Live” in November of 2010, he's launched multiple songwriting campaigns which allow readers of his blog to submit ideas that may inspire a song including lyrics, photos, videos, stories and more. ZEALE got his start as a freestyle artist and eventually landed a debut tour with AWOLNATION and Imagine Dragons.  Early in his career he focused on being a hiphop genre bender that led to features/collabs with AWOLNATION, Blue October, Jason Mraz, Disturbed, Alien Ant Farm, and Del The Funky Homosapien.

Liam Grahame Olsen is a new singer/songwriter based in the northeast of england.  A blend of haunting vocals and simple accoustic melody, this young man is definately a performer to have around on a relaxed or rainy day.  You'll appreciate the sound if you like Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz or Beautiful South.

Taylor Mahlinger is a 16 year old singer/songwriter/musician from Kentucky. “I’ve been singing and writing since I was seven and knew even at that early age that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life” she says. “I really can’t go a day without singing or writing. My music is the most important thing to me and I can’t wait to share it with the rest of the world.”

A fan of such diverse artists as Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz, Adele, and Dido Taylor’s songs of love, life, and heartache are emotive, soulful, and evocative classics in the making. “My most recent songs are about love even though I’ve never really had that experience yet. I’m not in a hurry – I know that time will be come. At the moment I’m just content writing what I feel and hear in my head. That’s the magical part of this process – it just flows naturally.”

Growing up, Taylor was encouraged by her violin, piano, and voice coaches to pursue singing/songwriting. Her father, a former singer/bass guitar player, set up a home studio where Taylor could record and practice her guitar. “I remember my dad playing the guitar and singing The Eagle’s “Hotel California” to me when I was six. It was magic.”

Taylor has recently formed her own artist management company and is working on producing her first EP of original recordings. She’s very excited to play live one day at the Grammy’s and on Later with Jools Holland.
