Instead of Burning the Man on Saturday night, the rain pushed things out for a few days. Bound to confines of our village and having everything and more needed to keep the party going, the Mysfit Village: Home of The Narwhal decided to let Boobs N Berries throw down and keep the spirits high post flood. As word got out the Boobs bar overflowed with donations from neighbouring camps, the music ceased to stop, fire spinners kept lighting up and revellers came to shake the mud off themselves and danced all night. This renegade rained-in block party was a highlight for many people's burn and also for Jackpot and I.

Burning Man : Animalia : 2023 : Burn Night (cancelled) : 11am that morning... 

After the freak floods drowned the city and the relentless mud forced people to stay home or stay stranded, our island camp, Boobs & Berries, had ample things to provide for the deserted so Claire & I locked ourselves in the booth for 3 hours and went deep. Really really deep. Deeper than we knew we had which surprised the animals within us and forced attention on the light, the dark and the deep struggles within. With Claire by my side and running her witty instinctual wisdom through the mic, a safe space to reflect, transform and let go was created in abundance. 

Words can’t really describe what is wrapped up in this music. A lot of grief, a lot of love, a lot of mixed feelings about hopes and dreams and the unknown. There are very few rules in this world and the same applies with the music I play. I’ve held this close to my heart for the longest time but now it’s time to release. Serendipitously the tracks from this folder and many more were destined for the long time BRC institution Disorient for an effigy burn set. The rain had other plans and swiftly cancelled those esplanade aspirations. I can’t thank the rain enough for grounding me and the members of our camp and making a turn of events happen in such a beautiful way. 

As the listener, I hope you find a tranquil place in your mind and soul to enjoy this radical self expression session 🖤❤️
