Phantom Forest

You may know that I hold the early productions of Kristian Thinning (Elysium, Sheyba etc) very dear. I always wished to listen to a set from him with these tracks slowly building up, taking their time. Kristian has chosen not to perform anymore, so sadly this will never happen. 

In the summer of 2020 at a legendary small danish gathering (Seismo), I got the opportunity to curate the afternoon selection. 

Frederik from Manapool opened with an excellent liveset before me, and if I remember correctly this was played from around 2pm-5pm, followed by a great, mostly vinyl, set from Marius Bø (UTE). 

I chose my favourite Elysium+aliases tracks (and a few others that fitted too well to be left out) and put them in suiting order. 

For me it was a fulfilment of something I had thought about for a very long time, and my impression and the feedback I received indicated that these tracks fitted perfectly for the afternoon, starting slow and picking up the pace towards the end, setting up for the rest of the night.

A key figure in the Copenhagen underground, Bondefar is known for his deep involvement in the city’s psychedelic landscape, as co-founder of the visionary label @valiscph, member of the @Bunkerbauer collective, and half of @Lundroende.

His record collection reads like an archaeological dig through trance history, digging deep into the forgotten corners of 90s goa while supporting the freshest psychedelic mutations.
