 Until yesterday it existed as a guide guitar track that I recorded, and some bouzouki played by my erstwhile bandmate.
I stuck some recorder and drums on it.

This sad music I composed is about a journey to a dark mountain. It was inspired by Lord of the Rings. This track is very unusual in that it behaves like music from a movie soundtrack. Sudden changes in melody and instruments are common. This music is part 1 out of 4 of the Halls of the Mountain.

Charles Mathews is an experienced ballet and contemporary accompanist, who has worked with teachers and dancers from Birmingham Royal Ballet, Elmhurst School for Dance, The Royal Academy of Dance, The Royal Ballet School, The British Ballet Organisation and DNA3D Dance Company amongst others. As well as playing for classical ballet, Charles also plays and improvises for contemporary dance classes and composes original music and arrangements for ballet and contemporary dancers. He has also written and recorded music for film trailers, computer games, mobile apps, the opening ceremonies of the European Gymnastics Championships and 2011 World Gymnaestrada in Lausanne, Switzerland.
