The Music for Ballet Classes series is a collection of CDs designed to provide dancers and dance teachers with all the music necessary for a complete classical ballet class. The featured piano on this album is a fantastic Fazioli concert grand with a wonderfully deep and resonant timbre. 
This fourth volume marks a departure from those previous in that tracks are not repeated for barre exercises, in order to provide some exercises with alternative tempi or time signatures. This makes Volume 4 the most flexible and best value album to date, featuring 40 separate tracks that span a wide variety of musical genres

Charles Mathews is an experienced ballet and contemporary accompanist, who has worked with teachers and dancers from Birmingham Royal Ballet, Elmhurst School for Dance, The Royal Academy of Dance, The Royal Ballet School, The British Ballet Organisation and DNA3D Dance Company amongst others. As well as playing for classical ballet, Charles also plays and improvises for contemporary dance classes and composes original music and arrangements for ballet and contemporary dancers. He has also written and recorded music for film trailers, computer games, mobile apps, the opening ceremonies of the European Gymnastics Championships and 2011 World Gymnaestrada in Lausanne, Switzerland.
