COV Premiere: Bal5000 'Untitled Acid'

Bálint Forgács AKA BAL 5000 started out producing drum & bass, but that was a long time ago now. These days he's ploughing a much more eclectic and distinctive furrow that he rather eloquently describes as "retro-futuristic spaced-out house, mixed with lost in the desert psychedelia". In practice, that means 'The Lake' is an understated, unhurried affair sitting somewhere between Balearica, deep prog and downtempo electronica in its original form, before being given a couple of predictably fine dancefloor rerubs courtesy of Balearic disco don Pete 'Reverso 68' Herbert, while bonus cuts 'Untitled Acid' and 'Untitled Electro' shouldn't really need any further explanation!

The boundaries we perceive between things — between self and other, mind and body, human and nature — are mental constructs. When we talk about a “cosmic glue,” it can be seen as the underlying oneness of everything, the inseparable interconnectedness of all existence. 

Everything is already “glued” together — not by something external, but by the fact that separation is an illusion and the actual state of things is non-duality.

Carlie is many things, a fashionista, a former lead dancer at some of the biggest events on the island of Ibiza and now an emerging DJ and producer with recent releases within the SCR exclusive music series on Bandcamp. On this new record Carlie’s big personality and unmistakable voice sets a mood guaranteed to entrance and hypnotize!
