Ce mois-ci, c'est à nouveau une selectress qui passe dernière la platine pour un mix à mi-chemin entre le roots oldies, l'UK roots et l'UK dub. Depuis Brighton (Sussex, Angleterre), Rebekah aka Ites Vibration passe en revue une partie de sa discothèque pour nous proposer quelques uns de ses trésors inna sound system style : une seule platine, en showcase, effets et sirène... Également chanteuse, MC, opératrice, Rebekah est impliquée dans de nombreux projets et résidences : sur la radio Real Roots par exemple où elle anime une émission mensuelle et invite aussi différentes selectress du monde entier dans son émission Roots Sisters, tous les vendredi à 21h30 (heure anglaise).

For the occasion Reemah from the island of St. Croix is back on vocal duties for the label - the result: a beautiful tune called ‘What Goes Around’ in a versatile lyrical style. On the flipside then - a ’Trumpet Situation’ - an uplifting instrumental cut featuring Berlin’s own Vale on the instrument. Both on an oldschool-style drum and bass driven riddim recorded in Brixton by the legendary Mafia & Fluxy rhythm section, spiced with some percussion by brother K’boko. The whole project was given to the dubmaster Nick Manasseh for mixing and the right treatment in his The Yard Studio and then mastered from 1/2inch tape at Star Delta in the UK. Now served with dubs and a fitting artwork by Chloé Bernal - ready to be played loud.
