DEEPSYSTEMS TWITCH STREAM 16-4-21

I've been asked by Melodic Distraction Radio to curate one of their 'Artist Focus' shows. It's a deep dive into musicians that have defined the sound of modern music; from stone cold classics, unearthed gems and forgotten B sides. I'll present a 60 minute tribute to a single artist who's had a notable impact on my musical life. For this edition I chose to focus on Larry Heard aka MR Fingers. Unquestionably one of electronic music finest pioneers and almost singlehandedly put the deepness in house music, his work sits at the very foundations of the genre. I'll take you through 10 of my choice tracks of his recording career, staying away from some of his more well known productions and digging deep into the back catalogue.

WOLF Music - November 2022

As Christmas is just around the corner we thought it was only right that we bring you one final mix of the year.  This year we’ve welcomed DJs from across the globe but this week we delve into the collection of a DJ who’s slightly closer to home, Manchester’s own, Yadava! @yadavasoflute

Yadava is a Manchester based musician, producer and DJ. As a co-founder of long-standing Mancunian club night @soflutemcr a community focussed party with an open music policy, Yadava’s sound draws upon soulful rhythms and grooves with an inflection towards jazz-influenced and percussive sounds. Yadava has released music on labels such as @church_label @tru_thoughts_  @omenarecords @anmarecordslondon @banoffeepiesrecords, XVI Records, and local label @adhocrecords with support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Osunlade, Nemone, Crazy P, Moxie and features from Mixmag, Stamp The Wax and more. The self-described instrument fumbler and radio mumbler also hosts a bi-monthly radio show ‘Expansions’ on NTS Manchester alongside fellow Manchester producer and studio collaborator @contoursmusic 

Yadava has also recently launched a new label & party  @allkindsofjoy.mcr which kicks off with its first party on 4th Feb at audiophile hifi bar @nammcr DJs @admin_bristol & fellow So Flute man @danuka1990 will be sharing the decks with Yadava so you can expect an eclectic night of sounds spanning jazz, world, disco, funk & more. Also 100% of the profits from the night will be donated to local charity Kids of Colour so make sure to grab a ticket as it’s set to be a top night! 

Before you get stuck into Yadava’s ‘Piano Mix’ he had a few words to say about it;

“For this mix I pulled together some records from my collection that heavily feature piano, or that won me over with their piano parts. Featuring classic recordings and some more under the radar the mix moves through some solo piano pieces, library sounds, classic jazz trio sets, modern compositions, jazz-funk for the dancefloor and some of my favourite house cuts that feature piano.”

Pablo Valentino is a talented French DJ & has been DJing since 1998. A well travelled and very knowledgeable music collector. 

He's the founder and owner of MCDE Recordings which he runs together with his close friend Motor City Drum Ensemble.

He also own another label called FACES Records (which just celebrated 15 years).

Pablo is known for his energic and eclectic DJ sets, ranging from House, Disco, Brazilian, Boogie, Techno & Soul.

Since 2014 Pablo is running a monthly residency called "Children Of The Drum" that has been a huge success on the french club scene, almost always sold out, it takes place in 2 of the most notorious french clubs : Le Sucre in Lyon & Rex Club in Paris.
