A life solo performance using modified Ableton software developed by Will Marshall. Percussion clips are called up in performance; all pitched sounds are improvised in real time (no overdubbing) I'm giving a few solo performances of this music in LA this summer. Also rehearsing a quartet. If people like it we'll take it on the road in 2017. Tell me what you think!

I, the first volume of music drawing on Cato’s extensive archive of compositions for film and television, including other, thematically inspired works. The music is intended to stand on its own, presented without reference to associated film or television productions. ***

Born in Oslo, Norway, Cato Gilmour became fascinated by electronic music and the gear to make it at an early age, inspired by artists like Tangerine Dream and Cabaret Voltaire, continuing to explore musical genres from electronic experimental to pop.  Cato performed as a solo artist, as well as in collaboration with some of Norway’s biggest artists. Invited to score local television and documentary films, he was soon drawn to Hollywood, and the potential for bigger musical challenges.

Based in Los Angeles, Cato has written and produced artist releases as schwarzmodul, Circadian Delays, One Carrera Two and Eccotonic, the latter three releasing on his own Kiite Records label, featured on compilations for Pacha Ibiza and Electronic Sound, as well as chosen for Native Instruments’ original 'Komplete Sketches’.

Cato is a sought after trailer remixer and music producer, having remixed Guns N’ Roses (Netflix’ Sweet Girl), London Grammar and Eivør (both for Game Of Thrones) among others.  He was the one chosen to reimagine the original “Blade Runner” score by Vangelis for "Blade Runner 2049”, in competition with major artists.  Cato's unique music and sound design is featured in over 1,400 movie and television trailers including “Prey”, “Nope”, “Men”, “Shining Girls”, “The Northman”, “Avengers: End Game”, “Ad Astra”, “The Irishman” and “Uncut Gems”, as well as in commercials for BMW, Ford, GM and Chrysler.

Cato's artist projects have seen him collaborate and co-produce with artists like Robot Koch (as schwarzmodul), Eivør, Wendy Rae Fowler (as Circadian Delays), Kira Skov and Hannah Schneider.  He has remixed a variety of artists including Alpha, R.E.M., Robot Koch, T.Rex and The Who, featured in productions like "How To Get Away With Murder", "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" and "Need For Speed”.

Cato has written music for several feature films including "Stone" (Robert De Niro) and "Smokin' Aces" (Ryan Reynolds).  He has tracks featured in numerous television shows including “The Crazy Ones” (Robin Williams), “Top Gear”, “The American West”, “Dexter” (as Eccotonic), “Girlfriends” (as Eccotonic) and "Saturday Night Live”.  Cato scored risky noir comedy "Mini's First Time" (dir. Nick Guthe, prod. Kevin Spacey) as well as other award-winning feature films and documentaries, including "The Kennedy Detail”, “Truth In Terms Of Beauty” and “Semper Fi: One Marine’s Journey” for 3-time Oscar™ nominee Vince DiPersio, and "Who Killed Johnny" for writer/director/actress Yangzom Brauen (NCIS: Los Angeles, Æon Flux).
