This track was played in the Trinitatis Kirke in Copenhagen. At the time there was a wonderful organ recital in progress, so I felt compelled to create this track. It was played on the Moog Model 15 app. Effects from Eventide were added later on.

« Mars 1995 : L'Ukraine tente de prendre le contrôle de la Crimée par la force Kiev a lancé des unités spéciales pour contrer les autorités indépendantistes de la péninsule, surtout peuplée de Russes.
Après avoir périodiquement brandi la menace d'une intervention, l'Ukraine a lancé, vendredi 17 mars 1995, des forces spéciales de police en Crimée pour tenter de reprendre le contrôle de la petite péninsule séparatiste, peuplée à près de 65 % de Russes. Tout « dépendra de la sagesse de la direction russe » à Moscou, a déclaré le président ukrainien, Leonid Koutchma, suscitant une certaine inquiétude, même s'il estime que l'affaire « ne devrait pas » affecter les relations russo-ukrainiennes.
Il reste donc à espérer que les responsables de la Russie et de l'Ukraine, puissance nucléaire elle aussi, se sont, en fait, secrètement mis d'accord sur l'avenir de cette « région autonome » disputée, considérée par la CIA comme l'un des détonateurs possibles d'une troisième guerre mondiale. L'autre hypothèse est que Kiev joue son va-tout au moment le plus favorable.
Car c'est alors que la Russie est engluée dans la guerre contre les séparatistes de Tchétchénie (qui mobilise l'essentiel de ses forces militaires), que l'Ukraine a lancé son coup de force dans sa propre région séparatiste. Tout a commencé vendredi par un vote, presque routinier, du Parlement ukrainien abolissant, à une majorité écrasante, le poste de président et la Constitution indépendantiste de Crimée. Quelques heures plus tard, signe que le « coup » avait été monté, près de deux cents hommes des forces spéciales de la police ukrainienne apparemment venues de Kiev et dirigées par le vice-ministre ukrainien de l'intérieur ont encerclé, à Simféropol, capitale de la Crimée, le bâtiment de l'ex-soviet suprême local, où se trouvent la présidence et le siège du Parlement pro-russes de Crimée »

In July the Meierkord family came by to say hello to us. Henrik and I took the opportunity to play something together. Nothing demanding: a sort of 'warm up', which has become a 'session' in my small living room. We mostly used some 'loops' I had on my JamMan, improvising over them, or even more freely. The recordings are quite 'lo-fi', mainly coming from a dictaphone placed in the center of the room, but we believe they are a good testimony of our musical and human entente and of the pleasure of meeting each other in person.

I'll Be There

Reinhard and Charlotte reveal the newest entry in their ‘inspired by’ album series. A Perfect Night is produced for the duo’s favorite Ghent watering hole, Jiggers Cocktails & Coolers. The good people at Jiggers designed eight cocktails for the project, each matched by a track from Reinhard and Charlotte.

The music is on here is highly eclectic, ranging from dusty soul-pop and oddball synth-funk to grand dream-stirring indie-pop that sounds like it would have come out of Paris in the 80’s. The duo worked with drummers Gert Malfliet and Giovanni Barcella on the album, with Vanbergen performing the rest of the instruments, and Caluwaerts singing on all tracks.

The vinyl is a gatefold lined with recipes for the cocktails and pictures by Zaza Bertrand, the wife of the owner of Jiggers, Olivier Jacobs. A real family affair.
