Glenn Morrison & Brian Cid have been longtime friends and partners in crime in various music projects.  Whether it’s writing platinum selling records for some of the biggest pop artists in the world to writing killer underground house records which find its way into the most rambunctious parties worldwide, it’s safe to say that they are natural borne musicians through and through.  The desire to create something from nothing is a true art in itself and with their many years of experience forms a dynamic and deadly duo that is a force to be reckoned with on the dance floor.

Innervisions is the A side and it typifies the floaty atmospheric nature of the release.  Crunchy industrial drums juxtapose a warm and rich baseline tone, and a very smooth entry into the breakdown leaves us with a half time broken beat melodic wash to spice up the midsection. ‘Nu’ is a much more mellow affair, with splashes of melody thrown over a pretty four chord arpeggiated main base.  It’s a very heady record and something perfectly suited to a late night  after-hours session or pre partying to the calm before the storm.

With the title track „Monkey“ we see Marcus Meinhardt explore deep, spatial TechHouse territories with a quite hypnotic twist, providing Trance-inducing, ever climaxing melodies, warped vintage basslines, intricate programming and, most importantly, a floating, mystical female vocal motif able to transform a sunrise over the dancefloor into an experience of a lifetime . On a remix tip for „Monkey“ is Definition who is focusing on a slightly darker, spiralling aspect in his rework. With overwhelming, big time basslines, tribal-infused percussion rolls and epic build-ups his take on the original walks the line between pumping TechHouse and (Neo)Trance for heaving crowds, being a sweet addition to the original cut for a reason.

One of Italy’s most innovative electronic music producers, Nihil Young, kicks off Frequenza's 2019 with a bang, unleashing two stunning new creations ‘Ascension’ and ’She’. ‘Ascension’ is a tense cinematic outing, where pulsating hooks ride over a dark effervescent undertow that organically mutates, giving way to a dramatic breakdown where anatomical synth stabs pirouette over tension filled sirens offset by elegant, melodic chimes. ’She’, as the title denotes, is gloriously feminine and primed with sublime sonic details. Airy syntholgy and hypnotic pads ebb and flow, underpinned by a warm bass growl that gives way to 2 emotive breakdowns where pretty melodies resonate over ethereal synthcapes before exploding back into the growl.

Nihil Young aka Less Hate, is a polyhedric artist, producer, remixer and DJ, considered a trendsetter by many and a prominent name in the international underground electronic music scene. He is the founder and curator of acclaimed Italian record labels Frequenza and Frequenza Black (Est 2009), featuring releases from artists such as Kostas Maskalides, Christian Schwarz, Louie Fernandez, Kellerkind, Teenage Mutants, David Herrero, Talal and more, alongside his own productions. He also designs all his own sleeve art for the labels.
