I create Press & Promotional campaigns to promote new music releases. Predominantly 'Underground House', 'Techno', bit of 'Balearic' and my beloved 'Disco'.   I'd like to think I have a very personal approach, working with friends & contacts simply sharing great music over a chat. I choose only to work with music I adore, so you can be sure I'll be passionate when I am promoting your stuff . I strive to get your release placed, mentioned and played in all of the 'relevant' places as well as getting the 'right people' to endorse it. I'll provide you with good quality feedback to help drive the sales of your release pre launch as well as placing physical records into the hands of VIP players.  As with these things.. it's hard to predict exactly what we will achieve... but what I can promise is that I'll throw a hell of a lot passion and enthusiasm at it and that, coupled with my track record so far,  the result shouldn't be  too shabby. Internationally renowned musician, keyboard supremo, bass player, composer, sound engineer and producer, Darren Morris, is credited on over 700 recordings to date and his CV reads like a Who’s Who of major Dance, pop/rock/indie productions over the last 25 years. He’s worked extensively on projects with industry luminaries including Tim Goldsworthy (DFA Records, LCD Soundsystem, Mo’Wax), Jagz Kooner (The Aloof, Sabres, Primal Scream), Ashley Beedle (X-Press 2) and David Holmes (Unloved). 

Darren’s work on cinematic soundtracks can be heard on the David Holmes 1998 ‘Out of Sight’ soundtrack, recorded over 5 weeks at the acclaimed Sunset Marquis Nightbird Studio, LA. In 2013, Darren co-composed and wrote the string section, solo cello and piano for the soundtrack to the US remake of ‘We Are What We Are’, directed by Jim Mickle, with Phil Mossman (Sabres Of Paradise/ LCD Soundsystem). The UK film premiere at The Empire Cinema in London saw Darren and Phil in their best suits being interviewed on stage before presenting the film to the 2013 Fright Fest audience.

Other notable achievements include The Maccabees 2012 ‘Given To The Wild’ LP, Massive Attack’s ‘Heligoland’, Primal Scream’s ‘XTRMNTR’, Manic Street Preachers ‘Know Your Enemy’, Red Snapper’s ‘Some Kind of Kink’, X-Press 2’s ‘Make Shift Feel Good’ and the 2010 notable body of work known as ‘Mavis’. Co-written and produced by Darren and Ashley
Beedle, the album features a whole host of collaborators including Candi Staton, Cerys Matthews, Ed Harcourt, Sarah Cracknell (St Etienne), Kurt Wagner (Lambchop) and Edwyn Collins (Orange Juice). With Darren at the helm as Musical Director, ‘Mavis’ was performed live at The Big Chill with the performance being aired on BBC 6 Music and Radio 2.

Darren’s signature ‘sound’ has featured on outstanding productions including Ashley Beedle’s remixes of ‘Stand Up Jamrock’ by Bob Marley and The Wailers and The Rolling Stones ‘Rain Fall Down’, Jagz Kooner’s remix of ‘Shock of The Lightening’ by Oasis, ‘Beautiful Day’ by U2 remixed by David Holmes and Tim Goldsworthy’s ‘Pray For Rain’ by Massive Attack. Darren has also been at the forefront of UK and US dance/house/disco productions, not only as a highly sought after musician but as a co-writer and producer. Tracks with London’s ‘Horse Meat Disco’ and Kathy Sledge (of Sister Sledge fame) were on heavy rotation on dance radio stations and his first collaboration with DJ Sophie Lloyd resulted in the epic gospel house anthem, ‘Calling Out Your Name’ ft. Dames Brown which has had well over 10 million streams on Spotify.

During the week, Darren works at his North Street West studio, remixing, producing and co-writing with his regular clients including Jo Wallace of Ramrock Records, Ashley Beedle, Colleen Murphy, Sophie Lloyd and Alan Dixon. In 2016, the original North Street Studio spawned the ‘North Street’ remixes and production team of the same name, comprising of Darren Morris, Ashley Beedle and Jo Wallace. When the studio moved West, the remixes were renamed accordingly - North Street West and No’West. The remix output of the NSW crew’s mixes has achieved worldwide critical acclaim within the music industry, with staunch supporters including BBC 6 Music’s Craig Charles. Darren’s most recent album co-production with Jo Wallace is Joseph Malik’s extraordinary September 2023 release, ‘Proxima Ebony’ on Ramrock Red Records.

When not in the studio, Darren is on the road as a keyboard player for Steve Mason (ex-Beta Band), who he has performed with since January 2016. Major highlights with Steve Mason include a unique orchestral performance at the London Barbican, a BBC 6 Music session at the legendary Maida Vale Studios and appearing on an impressive billing with The Stone Roses and Primal Scream at Hampden Park Stadium, Glasgow.  Darren also worked as a co-writer on Steve’s 2019 album, ‘About The Light’ on Domino Records, produced by the brilliant Stephen Street. 

In 2016, Darren released his inspiring album, ‘Union I’, featuring an improvised performance on the world famous organ at London’s Union Chapel which was superimposed with cinematic string machines and spacey mini-moog orchestration.

In January 2023, Darren and Ashley Beedle were commissioned to write the music to the incredibly moving BBC 4 podcast series, ‘Breaking Mississippi’, which told the inside story of James Meredith’s war against racial segregation in 1960s America. Broadcast during March 2023, The Guardian deemed it the ‘Best Podcast of the Week’ and it’s available on the BBC Radio 4 website. Since collaborating with Ashley Beedle in 2006 on ‘Make Shift Feel Good’, Darren is one half of ‘Afrikanz on Marz, and most recently, Darren has become the third member of the iconic dance music team, Black Science Orchestra with original founders, Ashley and Rob Mello. The three are presently working together on new Black Science Orchestra material which will release in 2024. Darren is also part of the wonderfully eccentric alternative pop duo, Suddenly WOW! With fellow band member, Otti Albietz, Darren has released ‘Little Things’ and ‘Plastic Life’ original and ‘Plastic Life’ (Remix EP) in 2023 with the space funk composition, ‘Space Soul Mother’ landing in 2024.
