London-based “future soul” trio, 10:32, bring the sunshine vibes on their new single, “Coffee Shop Girl”. The group, consisting of in-demand pianist Lyle Barton (Emma-Jean Thackray, Matters Unknown, Golden Mean), drummer Radovan Brtko, and vocalist Bridget Walsh are sure to impress, with their fresh & electric blend of jazz, hip-hop, and soul.

Their latest single, “Coffee Shop Girl”, was inspired by a period of recalibration and renewal for the band. Produced by Lewis Moody (known for his work with 30/70 and B-ahwe), the song is an evolution of their signature sound hints to a great appreciation for the likes of Moonchild and Erykah Badu. 

The band shared some words: ““We escaped to the countryside in 2021 to conjure up a new record, and coffee shop girl is our first release from that week away. It feels right to start this new 10:32 chapter in the springtime with the same fresh energy you might start your day with when you get your morning coffee. Crushing on the possibilities of what you can manifest, falling in love with the hope for things to get better. Lightness of spirit but depth of intention - that’s basically our vibe.”

10:32 is an exciting new collective that is pushing the boundaries of soul and jazz and they are sure to capture the hearts and minds of music lovers around the world. Judging by the sound of “Coffee Shop Girl'”, there’s a lot more to come.

Melbourne R&B slow jammers (and heart throbbers) Leisure Centre (FKA The Do Yo Thangs) are proud to release ‘Sucka’, the second cut taken from their long-awaited debut album, Mind Full. Sucka’s bouncy 90s synth-funk meets new jack era R&B sound is the perfect end to the 2018 Australian summer. 

Drummer, songwriter and producer Hugh Rabinovici says, “It’s about those super fun/exciting early stages of falling for someone - The kind of sitch where it’s out of your control and you’re just dumb in love”. Audrey Powne delivers a storming lead vocal supported by silky harmonies and a pumping rhythm section.

Out 20 July, the Mind Full album sits on a darker and more electronic plane to their previous EP, taking their staple of 808 kick drums and tight vocal harmonies into almost Little Dragon-esque territory. Mind Full is a tour of extremes, from the sparse minimalism of title track to the exuberant maximalism of ‘Sucka’.

Dimensions Recordings’ fifth release sees the label step into the world of the longplayer with Istanbul native, KEREM AKDAG’s self titled debut album.

Kerem has already been winning fans of the ilk of Gilles Peterson through his output of dusty house and tripped out beats in the last few years, and of course via his Getdownsoclose offering on Dimensions’ debut release. His debut album however, sees Kerem deliver a mature piece of work, bright and timeless, equally effective in the club as it is at home and brimming with ideas, hooks and must have songs.

Across eight tracks Kerem demonstrates a breadth of skills that most artists would work a lifetime to achieve. From the stepping beats of When I Think Of You to his subtle vocal layers on Isolated and from the woozy beach vibes of Sultan to the rasping synths of Unite it’s clear that there’s very little that’s outside of Kerem’s arsenal. The album rounds out fittingly with Drums Please, which perfectly displays Kerem’s jazz tendencies, a slow grooving track whose crescendo of stabs and drums create a song that’s more powerful than its parts.

Kerem Akdag’s debut album clearly sets out the stall for a man who has a lot to say and has the capability to say it loud!
