Dream Chimney proudly presents "Tidal Figures," the new EP from Paris based producer Sim Fossil. The release is a deep dive into cosmic soundscapes, synth melodies, heavy basslines weaving together elements of house, nu-beat, and ambient into a truly unique, low-BPM fusion. Across four original tracks, "Tidal Figures" explores a quiet duality of space and time. "Echo Marina" and "Nyrosine" bask in a soft, melodic glow, while "Null Meridian" and "Backcurrent" plunge listeners into a darker, even slower synthetic haze. The tracks are all driven by deep, slow basslines and shimmering synths that feel heavy and submerged, reminiscent of a half-speed Harold Faltermeyer adrift in an underwater voyage.

Adding to the EP's allure, "Tidal Figures" features two remixes from revered artists Max Essa and Project Sandro. Balearic luminary Max Essa takes on "Echo Marina," infusing it with his signature magic touch while preserving its gentle tempo. Project Sandro, the collaborative vision of Rollmottle and Tony Watson, then propels "Null Meridian" into an even deeper, outer space cruiser, showcasing their masterful blend of studio expertise and vision. This release showcases Sim Fossil's ability to create a sound that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking, electronic yet gently fluid, perfectly suited for the ears and hearts of the Dream Chimney fanbase.

About our Guest:
Hailing from Baltimore, but residing in LA for over 10 years is Body Tools co-founder DJ Economy. As both a producer and DJ, he explores a range of styles while always channeling an ear for percussion, jazzy gritty grooves, the off kilter sounds of IDM, Jungle, Trip-Hop, and Dusty Deep House. Behind the decks he dispenses sets that effortlessly change form while keeping your hips locked to the groove. Across his five releases on Body Tools he has plotted a sound that is raw and fresh with the jagged edges of analog hardware production and always nodding to the warehouses and fields of rave's beginnings.

About the Show:
Body Tools Sessions is a live audio video broadcast that happens on the First Saturday of every month from 1pm to 4pm PST on the VPN network. Each episode features a mix by a Body Tools resident on the first hour and a half, and then a special guest mix is featured on the second hour and a half. Once the stream is finished we always post the videos and audio the following week to our archive on SoundCloud, YouTube, & Vimeo.

Aeshim is a new solo project by Adam Scrimshire. "2BCM1" delves deep into Scrimshire’s love of broken beat. References flow from DKD’s ‘Future Rage’, while also calling on influences from Herbie Hancock to Roni Size. Tumbling kick drums fight with fizzing and insistent bass as they give way to sustained strings and soulful vocals.  Due for release on June 24th, "2BCM1" will be the first taste from Aeshim’s debut album, ‘Or…’.

Leaving live drums and acoustic instruments behind in favour of making tracks with a more immediate, speedy, synthesised approach, the Aeshim experiments happen through strict time limitations. His debut album under this pseudonym, ‘Or…’, was written and produced in the first two weeks of lockdown in the UK.

Two previous EPs, also deliberately made within short one-week sessions, explored his love of broken beats and electronic bass lines and received love and support from Jamz Supernova (BBC Radio 1Xtra), EVM128 (WorldwideFM) and Le Mellotron. 

The debut album takes time to explore these ideas and more, from ambient soundscapes, to dubbed out piano sounds and growling sub arpeggios. And though electronic in form, there are still Scrimshire’s soul influences threaded throughout, clipped vocal harmonies and Rhodes pianos take a place inside the roomy drum loops and sizzling Juno chords.

“I’ve called it ‘Or…’ because the world is at such a pivotal moment of potential progress. Return to normal, or pursue change. Accept what was, or demand something better. ‘Or…’ is also part of a more personal question about my own involvement in that, measuring the person I was and have been, against the person I need to be."

On July 3rd, Aeshim’s ‘Or…’ will be released on Albert’s Favourites, the label formed by Adam, who also mixed and mastered the album, his Modified Man partner Dave Koor, and Jonny Drop, who created the artwork. The label has released projects by Hector Plimmer, Rōnin Arkestra, Huw Marc Bennett, The Expansions, Scrimshire, and Jonny Drop.
