Ko Shin Moon was born in 2017, at a crossroads between traditional Eastern strings and electronic music machines. After spending four years in India learning music instruments, Axel Moon discovered that his old friend Niko Shin had started a recording studio filled with analog synths.

Today’s premiere comes from Paris-resident, South Africa raised DJ, producer, composer and singer, Portable, aka Bodycode, via the independent French imprint, Circus Company.

A delightfully odd slice of electronic funk, “The Simulacrum” is the opening song on Portable’s forthcoming album for Circus Company, ’My Sentient Shadow’. Arguably his most cohesive, emotive, and balanced album to date, it follows a deep discography taking in releases on leading labels such as Perlon, ~scape, !K7, and his own Süd Electronic and Khoikhoi imprints.

The concept for the album came about “By using the analogy of a shadow that possesses its own consciousness, the theme of light and its distortion vs balance with the inherent and necessary darkness that surrounds it is in clear vision.”

Following lead single “I Feel Stronger Now”, the whole album will drop on February 4th, on both digital and double vinyl formats.

Frank & Tony drop their new Dream Vibration EP some 5 years after their last outing as a duo with the much-celebrated Odes EP. 

Having teased the full release with two upfront tracks - Time Out Of Mind and Timmy Regisford’s masterful instrumental rework of Stretch Out Like The World, we now get to enjoy the full package. 

Title track Dream Vibration kicks off with a lazy breakbeat, floating, barely-there chord washes and eventually and slowly reveals a thick, low kick and deep sub to drive things along. 

Frank & Tony’s original version of Stretch Out Like The World features Eliana Glass on vocals - a melancholic but tough track that exudes a classic in the making. 

Timmy Regisford’s vocal mix amps up the percussion to create a hypnotic club jam idea for an early morning Shelter dancefloor.
