A few days before Ge-ology joins us for Somewhere In Amsterdam with Sadar Bahar and Robert Bergman, the skilled DJ drops by to explore our store. From the record pile he has built, he selects a few tracks to make this very fine mix.

Ge-ology has been a genuine record collector and a genre defying DJ and producer for over two decades. He's produced for the likes of Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Jill Scott and De La Soul amongst others. Raffaele Arcella, known under the moniker Whodamanny, is a hyper-prolific producer and remixer who has been active for many years within the independent underground electronic scene and beyond. Closely associated with the Neapolitan label Periodica Records, he has released and co-produced numerous projects, and since 2023 he has been curating his own imprint, Biloba, conceived as a platform to carry forward the legacy of the Latin Italo-Disco trend that marked many Italian productions from the late 1980s through the 1990s. Onda Biloba stands as a kind of album–compilation, bringing together the results of Arcella’s ongoing exploration in recent years — both in stylistic development and studio experimentation. The record offers a diverse and vibrant selection, shifting between potential “hit-not-hit” dancefloor bangers and more laid-back, downbeat digressions for blue-hour moments.

Natural Element proudly presents the long-awaited album The Paradigm Shift by one of Amsterdam’s finest and most prolific producers, Kid Sublime. Following on from the 12” single ‘You Got Me Runnin’’ which dropped in the summer, this 8 track, double LP offering is a special piece of work crafted during the pandemic years and Turbulence recording sessions with maestros Beka Gochiashvili and Mishulino.

The album showcases the evolution of Kid Sublime’s sound and the influence of London’s vibrant broken beat scene, with him having connected with some of the artists around the time of the passing of the legendary Phil Asher. It touches on house, bruk and even techno, with his signature soulful touch palpable across the whole record. Features include talented London artist Oliver Night, Sydney-based vocalist Natalie Slade and long time collaborator, flautist Han Litz, amongst others.

The Paradigm Shift takes you on a deep sonic journey straight from the heart, celebrating love, connection, spirituality and human evolution. There’s introspective moments with the jazzy house drifter ‘The Awakening’ and the dubbed out bass of ‘Kingz’, as well as joyful moments such as the uplifting ‘Heaven’s Glory’ and the romantic ‘Stay Over’, which is as soulful as it gets. ‘Bring It Come’ brings some minimal bruk flavours reminiscent of Bugz in the Attic, and the title track takes things a bit darker with a club-ready roller.

Sitting somewhere between the living room and the dancefloor, this album is sure to enliven the spirits of many a discerning listener and bring some much needed radiance and hope into people’s lives.

Mamie's Radio Show #24 Special Ferme du Bonheur with Ge-ology

Tartelet Records and The Vinyl Factory join forces for a release showcasing remixes from two prominent Americans and a great Dane.

GE-OLOGY and Byron The Aquarius of Sound Signature fame and Tartelet veteran James Braun deliver three outstanding remixes of Wayne Snow’s feel good tune ‘Nothing Wrong’ taken from his debut album ‘Freedom TV’.

The original version, produced by Naples-based duo Nu Guinea, is an irresistible up-tempo funk tune that has been getting serious spins from some of the most respected selectors in the game.

Ge-ology’s ‘In-Reverse-Reflip’ mix is a trippy ten-minute journey through layered in-reverse melodies and subtle acid carried by a tight, stripped-back groove. The result is a hypnotic gem that sits comfortably in any late night set.

Byron The Aquarius slows it down for his ‘Live Mix’ adding a playful bassline, live drums, rhodes and synth almost reminiscent of Kool & The Gang’s 1974 hit ‘Summer Madness’.

Tartelet mainstay James Braun steps back into the limelight after years of silence with a highly effective club mix; combining his signature low-slung house grooves with Wayne’s backing vocal, turning it into something that is both pumping and exotic.
