Sound Avenue wraps up a strong spring season by showcasing new interpretations of ‘A Fading Dream' by Madloch & Subnode. Originally released in August of 2023 as the lead piece to the duo's 'A Fading Dream' EP, the deep dubbed-out nine-minute epic was one of depth, character and groove. Fully formed within the creative confines of the duo's Belgian studio, it was yet another chapter in Madloch & Subnode's prolific partnership, one which has succeeded in showcasing their inventive approach to composition, while remaining both club-effective and listener friendly. Moving forward, the duo wrapped up a successful 2023 with the October release of ‘September Day', a concise yet whimsical and wondrously dreamy piece of music which was celebrated for its fluttery drum arrangements and airy sense of space. With 2024 now well into its second quarter, Sound Avenue looks back on ‘A Fading Dream', inviting Figueras, Diego Moreira and Ercos Blanka to re-imagine the track for the summer season.

(Ritmo Futuro / A.O.C. / Secret Fusion / Living Like Birds / Urge to Dance / Discotexas)

Portuguese artist, Rick Offen, part of the collective Ritmo Futuro, erstwhile a resident in London, strikes back to motherland, where he´s also the co-founder of the brand Ritmo Futuro.

Elevating the musicality while blending in absolute synergy a distinct variety of sounds and strains, he conducts the audience through his unique form of storytelling.

He´s latest EP on A.O.C.  and remix for Urge to Dance had huge support around the world. A couple of original ep’s  and remixes are on the pipeline for this year.

Presenting their second release of the year, REFRACTION RECORDS welcomes Chiari to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Brazil, Chiari first emerged in 2019 on the strength of releases for The Purr and Magician on Duty. With a deep, organic and groovy sound, the Balneário Camboriu resident was quickly tipped as a new artist to watch going forward. The next three calendar years would see Chiari choose his projects wisely, adding Hoomidaas, Seven Villas and Where The Heart Is to his discography, while refining his repertoire with further depth, colour and detail. A remix of Pedro Capelossi's 'Horimono' via Loot Recordings ended 2023 on a high note, ultimately leading to his first release of 2024, and subsequent Refraction debut 'Plans & Plants', alongside remixes from Retza and Luis León.

From a peninsula jutting out into the Mediterranean Sea, ARTN soars high above the Lebanon Mountains with immaculate “Kontrol”. An elemental groove rolls gently into the ocean where waves of sound pulsate softly through powerful bassline pattern. Delayed motifs ricochet, criss-crossing over each other in muted patterns and white-noise washes crash against the rocks in cascading sound.

Greek mythology meets modern day musical philosopher as Simos Tagias epitomises a fresh new sound. Reworking a bassline with consummate “Kontrol”, the beast is tamed with as LFOs slow and speed across reverberated synth lines while a glorious percussive groove forms a powerful bedrock. Straight from the sound garden, Weird Sounding Dude rises out of the bustling Bangalore metropolis with grace and dynamic energy. Smooth motifs drift alongside muted arpeggios as a driving beat and hypnotic percussion wrestle back “Kontrol”.

Analogue power permeates through northern Ukraine, Tech D finds a new “Kontrol” via sonic architecture that builds through relentless beat and soaring melodic phrases. The result is a stunning juxtaposition of sound that blends delicate touch with fascinating rhythms.
