Tripswitch’s onedotsixtwo platform keeps the positivity flowing in 2020 and continues to bring together the finest global talent by welcoming the hyper-talented Argentinian DJ/Producer Sebastián Sellarés to the label for his debut solo release, with a tribute to his beloved birthplace ‘Córdoba’. An equally excellent second track ‘Higher Ground’ also receives an exceptional remix treatment from Australian legend Kasey Taylor.

The title-track ‘Córdoba’ is a deeply delicious swirling beast with an incessantly hypnotic groove and wonderfully subtle melodic hooks. Sebastián’s masterful layering technique and unhurried composition combine perfectly to create an immaculate artistic statement of intent. Continuing to expand upon this theme, ‘Higher Ground’ radiates and showers colourful energy, as it soars and dives in glorious melodic abandon to complete a proper progressive experience. 

2020 is already proving to be a highly productive time for Sebastián Sellarés, with releases on Antrim’s Or Two Strangers imprint and AMITABHA, alongside a string of remixes that have popped up on Massive Harmony, Consapevole, Clinique, Viscerala and BQ Recordings. Now, ‘Córdoba’ is the next step in a flourishing career, as his reputation continues to grow impressively around the world.
Stepping up on remix duty is one of the most loved DJ/Producers on the Australian scene, the legendary Vapour Recordings main man, Kasey Taylor. Here, he takes ‘Higher Ground’ into an entirely different, yet perfectly complimentary aural dimension, as he layers synth riffs and bounces melodies and hooks around in a multi-dimensional arrangement with the gleeful abandon that only a true master of his art can accomplish. As remixes go, this intense creativity is a perfect finale to yet another highly imaginative progressive package from onedotsixtwo.

Sebastian Sellares - Higher Ground (Kasey Taylor Remix)

The latest release from Just Movement welcomes AxeLara back to the label for a new EP. The Argentinean artist has found a comfortable home on the Dutch imprint following his label debut in 2017 with a contribution to the 'Summer' Vol.3 compilation series. The Mar Del Plata resident has since gone on to release two EPs and appear on Volume's Four and Five of the aforementioned mentioned 'Summer' series. Now following a contribution to Stellar Fountain's 'Signals From the Void' - Part 5, AxeLara returns to Just Movement with 'Epifania | Apus' alongside remixes from Stage Van H and Ewan Rill. Beginning with 'Epifania', AxeLara dives into the pure progressive side of his repertoire. It's punchy beats and subterranean groove carry a large presence, while waves of clattering percussion and rolling rhythms advance the narrative. As momentum builds, fragmented melodies and trippy arps play off each other for dynamic moments. Free flowing into the break, hazy harmonics add drama and character as a gentle sweep cues a timely drop for a mystical finale. The companion piece 'Apus' continues the progressive minded flow with a driving, hypnotic narrative. A rolling low end sets the track in motion as icy pads and lively rhythms move through the framework as the main break commences. Otherworldly yet hopeful, the interlude sits at the core of the storyboard, with its cinematic scope eventually revealing a heartfelt melody, before perfectly segueing into a soaring finale. The lone interpretation of 'Epifania' is provided by Stage Van H who returns following a contribution to the label's 'Summer' Vol. 5 Collection. The Dutch artist continues to be a core member of the Dutch imprint's roster, with a nostalgic sound that has become synonymous with the label. Now fast approaching his fiftieth production for the label Stage turns in a rousing rendition of 'Epifania'. Backed by a tough, rolling groove the Dutch artist's clattering percussion and free flowing rhythms quickly appease the senses. Cosmic effects add an otherworldly air while fragmented arps continue to drive momentum forward. Stripping down into the main break, subtle modulation and haunting chord changes unite for a gorgeous blend of melody and colour, before a powerful drop ushers in an exhilarating finale. The lone interpretation of 'Apus' is provided by Ewan Rill who returns to the label for his ninth appearance. The Russian artist and Sever Records boss has been a mainstay of the progressive house underground since first appearing in 2011 with a release on Balkan Connection. Now almost a decade later he stands as one of the genre's most prolific artists, with a discography of more than 1250 credits and appearances on esteemed imprints such as Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden. Now lending his remixing skills to 'Apus' he turns in another supremely creative piece of music. Engaging from the outset, its muscular framework is crafted to perfection with smooth rhythms and hypnotic lines converging for a gorgeous free form story. Hazy atmospheres and misty tones lift the mood higher as the main break commences. Perfectly timed, the track's centrepiece is tastefully trippy, as dramatic effects set the foundation for a gorgeous musical wave, before smoothly shifting energy into a purring final movement. A brilliant remix from Ewan which rounds out another must have release from Just Movement

With 'Closure' we welcome Adam Trist feat. m_tthew to ICONYC Noir. Adam treats us with a brand-new track that oozes class and sophistication. 'Closure' features rich driving textures; as well as euphoric and moody deep house vibes to satisfy ambient, uplifting and feel good needs, which are the keywords for this beautiful and extraordinary release.

Adam opens proceedings with his smashing original mix. His musical development is in full swing, interspersed subtle effective percussion, accompanied by profound floaty grooves and indie influences lead the way. Utilizing the hypnotizing groove and vocal, as the basis of the original underpinned by a rumbling bass that gradually eases its way to the breakdown, before unleashing into a rising melodic hook intertwined with the infectious groove that fades in and out for maximum effect.

The first remix comes courtesy of Andrea Cassino; which hits all the right chords from the word go. Andrea's deep entry merged the roomy glowing drive, filtered stabs and stunning groove which beautifully lead into a drop full of tension and excitement, while the understated yet driving bassline and layered vocals power the groove along. He manages to keep the energy up, allowing the driving melodic house feel to shine thru over the many layers and textures to create a beautiful soundscape to round off this classy underground crowd pleaser. Essential stuff from Andrea!

Next up we welcome back Las Von. His unique act and emotional creations carry quite a large scope. He is not afraid to explore esoteric or introspective themes and the end result is always a compelling one. Such is the case with his remix of 'Closure', which carries many of Las Von's most loved production hallmarks. From a warm, meaty low end to icy atmospherics and an effects storyboard to get lost in, there is certainly a lot to like. The main break is perhaps the high point, with the mood shifting from emotive to ominous with effortless ease. It's something you rarely see and he pulled it off beautifully here.

Adam Trist's 'Closure' really shows that there're no boundaries, as this beautiful deep melodic release will leave you with many smile induced moments! Not to be missed.

Argentinian duo Agustin Paez and Geronimo Nicolas make their return on MNL after their track 'Wercobast' was released on the Seasons | Summer 2019 EP. A song which remains one of their most known tracks to date. Now it's time to give them the full spotlight with their 'Vad Hander EP' which contains three brand new originals. All uplifting, heady, cleverly produced progressive house cuts which we expect will be welcomed into the scene with open arms.
