Do Not Sit has never been about one sound, and as we always look to discover the bright stars of the future, we never forget the heroes of the past. We are thrilled to welcome to the label one of those heroes and a very dear friend, Gavin Hardkiss. 

Gavin was one of the bedrocks of the original San Francisco scene, and he was one of the main forces who helped shape the community. We have so much respect for what him and the family of Hardkiss Brothers did to shine light on the West Coast sound around the world.

'Perc Groove EP' is a collection of three original tracks from Gavin, each filled with his decade's long palate of sound and rhythm. From the title track's deep, underground warehouse vibes, to 'Debonnaire', the familiar cosmic breaks he championed for generations, and the modern, organic and emotional composition of 'Budboi'.

We are honored to have Gavin officially join the Do Not Sit Family, even though we always considered him a part already.

Italian veteran Gai Barone teams up with Micah for three prime cuts showcasing everything we love about the progressive sound. Cerebral and kinetic in equal doses, this is electronic music of the highest order.

The broken beats of 'Prisma Pt. 1' feels tempered, yet the drama is everywhere around it. The glowing staccato bass is accentuated by flowing choirs of synths and lead keys containing more emotion than an entire civilisation's collective genetic memory. This is high concept and thoughtful dance music.

A deep, rolling synth acts as the intro for 'Prisma Pt. 2' before entering into an inviting 4/4 rhythm. Once again, celestial choirs and atonal lead keys effortlessly glide across the drums like an ice skater. Halfway through proceedings, the deep rolling sigh synth appears again, acting as a bookmark in another very engaging story.

The energy is turned up on 'Valse', a driving tech house workout that keeps things simple without ever being derivative. Punchy percussion, a bubbling, balmy bassline, and entertaining vocal samples all add up for a massive dancefloor bomb that aims straight for the main floor jugular.

It's clear that Davor Tosovic is an accomplished and respected producer within the electronic music scene, and his latest release on Madloch's Crossfade Sounds imprint is a testament to his talents. The "Ambiance of Chord" EP showcases Tosovic's ability to craft compelling and immersive tracks that showcase the deeper sides of dubtechno, techno, and house music.

The EP's title track, "Ambiance of Chord," is a standout offering that blends subtle atmospheres with driving drums and pulsating basslines. It's a track that's sure to get any dancefloor moving, and it sets the tone for the rest of the EP.

The other three tracks on the EP continue in a similar vein, offering up a range of dynamic and immersive soundscapes that showcase Tosovic's prowess as a producer. Whether it's the deep and dubby "Moving Sounds" or the more upbeat and groovy "That Feeling" there's something for every underground music fan on this EP.

Dan Baseley aka Orsen returns to Replug Records for the much anticipated follow-up to his 2017 release 'Through The Woods'. Received amidst much praise, the four track offering was sonically diverse and widely regarded as Dan's most captivating work to date. The UK born, Austria based artist began his 2018 journey with a remix of '11 Moons' by progressive house stalwarts GMJ and Matter. Coming courtesy of Proton Music it set in motion what promises to be another landmark year for the burgeoning producer. Now presenting his first original productions of 2018, Orsen returns to Cid Inc's Replug Records with a brand new artist showcase entitled 'Driftwood'. 

Spread across three tracks it's the title and first showcase piece 'Driftwood' which gets the EP underway. Built around a buzzing foundation are effervescent pulses and head shaking percussion. From dramatic, anticipatory beginnings the narrative then shifts into emotive territory, as warm overlays descend over the charged groove. Evolving elegantly over it's eight minute voyage are reflective motifs and hopeful themes, before culminating in a tepid rush of rich textures and impassioned chord changes. 

The equally brilliant 'Modified' continues the journey with an effortless, free flowing style. A cascading bass pattern begins the melodic storyboard, developing subtly within the rhythmic framework, as fuzzed out stabs and waves of atmosphere elevate the mood. Beautifully sculpted percussion adds further drive, leading to a collage of melodic textures, ultimately peaking during an exhilarating third act finale. 

The release concludes with 'Tundra' which finds Orsen exploring new melodic directions. Beautiful and innovative in equal measure it's a snapshot of the Austria based artist's vast studio repertoire. On a backbone of warm, delicate beats comes organic percussion, piano motifs and a squirrly yet emotive lead line. Its capricious nature behoves a string of emotive moments, accentuated wonderfully by rousing vocal phrases, before melting down to a gentle purr in the third and final act. 

For an artist who chooses his projects wisely, Orsen has once again expanded his sonic palette on 'Driftwood', creating evocative sound stories while keeping a pulse firmly on the dance floor. Set to be one of the summer season's most sought after EP's, it further solidifies Orsen's place amongst the progressive house elite.
