i had the pleasure of playing a late night set during a celebration of the summer solstice on june 20. although we were not recording then, the energy was so contagious that i could not resist mixing and sharing what i played that beautiful evening.

this is a more high energy set from me, but still with the deep, emotional, melodic groove that speaks to my spirit. and of course a dash of fun and funk ;)

In these winter days, relaxed, soulful music inspires me the most. Music that gives me a cosy, comfortable feeling, where you can dance or chill, alone or with friends. This eclectic set is a mix of the music that sweetens my winter days. Many different genres of music are included, such as world, downtempo, funk, disco, hiphop, cosmic, jazz and more. You can find something great in each genre if you take your time and approach it without prejudice. Each genre expresses a different basic feeling... wonderful! 🌈✨ Enjoy the winter feelings!🙌🌪

If you’re over 40 you may recall - waiting in alleyways with your crew outside of an afterhours party. The feeling of anticipation, both exciting and insufferable. The big steel door opens. The bass hits your chest. You slip through a heavy velvet curtain, and slide onto the dance floor. Your entire body enveloped by the music. The perfect evening has just begun.

For the 14th Pathways we welcome Matt Drake.

Drawing inspiration from the astral arpeggios of 70s Krautrock, ragged Balearic vagabond synth pop of the 80s and proto-rave machine rhythms of the 90s he has dedicated his life to music. 

Being a core part of New Zealand's underground dance music scene since the early 90s - touring clubs, festivals and events across the land, a founding member of Nurture Recordings, running Crucial Records on Auckland's High Street, hosting the decade long Slipstream radio on George FM, running club nights such as Beatstreet, and is a creative director at Lo-Fi Productions who have been creating epic boutique music experiences with the very best house and techno artists from Aotearoa and from across the globe.

Duboko Deep is passionate collector & DJ coming out of Zagreb (Croatia). His love to music started in early age. His mother and father collector’s of chanson francaise,jazz music,canzoni italiane,Sinatra,Dean Martin, soundtrack’s etc. His passion for music begins with vinyl records of disco, italo, hi-energy, Canadian disco, synth-infused, 80s music, soul …He got involved in the electronic music & house in late 80s, shortly after club music took over him. From the very beginnings Deep house was sound to which he remained most faithful, simply because it was love at the first listen! And so it continues… His musical selection is best described as pure, deep, melodic vibes which takes you “Duboko” (“Deep” in Croatian)! Trough his sets you can feel eclectic beautiful synth works, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, oriental sounds, and occasional vocal hooks. His music styles are open minded. He practises emotional tunes, and it does not matter whether are new or old. It is important that they raise his emotional moment which can reach out to listeners through his selections. And so it has for years, through various clubs, lounge bars, on different kinds of events like museums, beaches giving out smiles and satisfaction to his listeners. His passion for music is to explore and mix so Deep musical languages. Peace...Love...Music!!!
