Man of many labels Marcel Vogel turns out some of his most impressive material on Intimate Friends, bringing other talents into the fold to share in his vision of soul, funk, disco and house how it should be done. Having released the Human Beings album last year, Vogel invites a stellar cast to come and remix several tracks with predictably fantastic results. NY*AK enlists the honey-coated Rhodes skills of Mark Hand on their version of "Human Being", and it's an absolute joy to listen to. Meanwhile SoulPhiction gets into an equally heart-warming groove when he tackles "Always Isn't Only". Soul Clap meanwhile bring a little more party functionality to "Moonchild" before Simba offers up a very different, low-slung and laid back version.

Noha & Alex Tea’s musical relationship is one that’s yielded great results to date, chiefly as result of their work together on the Panick EP, the inaugural release on Noha and Alex’s increasingly essential Panick Panick! label. Here, they team up with distinction once more for the label’s fourth release, the only difference being that this time they do so under their Patagonia moniker. If this one is a sign of things to come, it’s an alias that looks set to bare serious fruit over the next while.

A two tracker full of heady, intoxicating vibes, we get underway courtesy of the rushed, dubs flavours of ‘Rimane Senza’. A multilayered cut that boasts a relentless edge, it stops only for breath when its sporadic vocal flourish enters the equation. Dark and banging but with featuring just enough light at the end of the tunnel, it’s an all-round engrossing cut with a stuffy demeanour that’s hard not to appreciate.

The A side sees the duo revert to more percussion-led planes, courtesy of ‘Chi Ci Pensa’. The sort of weapon that’s sure to go down a treat with latin-inclined DJs such as Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano, this one’s already got an airing at Sunwaves courtesy of [a:rpia:r], who unleashed it to great acclaim at the renowned Romanian festival. Full of swing and smile-induced vibes, this one may well prove to be one of the biggest tracks of the summer. Expect this one to play out across European dancefloor’s over the coming months.

With this record Innervisions and mict bring you 2 remixes for the award winning 
Sudanese musician Emmanuel Jal.

The remixes come from Henrik Schwarz and Olof Dreijer (The Knife) and they were 
originally compiled for the SUDAN VOTES MUSIC HOPES campaign by MICT.

In this campaign several organizations across the globe have come together to promote
international awareness for the referendum in January 2011 in which the people of South Sudan 
voted to decide whether they wish to remain part of a united Sudan or whether they want to become 
an independent country -
9/7/2011, South Sudan's independance day.

But as always with Innervisions releases: let the music speak for itself.
