East London's most forward-thinking record label is soon to release Nervous Horizon Vol. 4, the latest addition to their notorious various artists compilation series.

Known for bringing together regional club sounds from all around the world, this time label heads TSVI & Wallwork focus on dancehall influenced instrumentals but also throw fast paced percussive club works in the mix.

Nervous Horizon's core members DJ Plead, Ehua, DJ JM, SIM & Seven Orbits are all back with killer dubs and Vol. 4 also sees the introduction of some brand new signees: Montreal based Mexican producer Ultima Esuna, Bristol's rising star Josi Devil and congolese Nyege Nyege affiliate Chrisman. Techno prodigies Happa and Aquarian make their debut appearance on the label as well with compositions that blend intricate sound design with explosive low end.

Opening at 90 BPM and ending at nearly 160BPM, Nervous Horizon Vol. 4 is definitely going to be one of the most effective tools on the dance floor this season!

The Copenhagan-based DJ, producer, and founder of SWANA-focused club night Bukhar follows a prolific run of EPs in 2022 with two more cuts that blend propulsive club beats with percussion inspired by his Kurdish heritage. ‘QAAR A’ peppers its driving, four-to-the-floor techno beat with finger cymbals, darbuka drumming, mizmar-like melodic samples, and vocal chops.

Mastered by Danish techno producer and Kulør-affiliate, Sugar, both tracks on ‘QAAR’ boast an irresistibly revved-up velocity. It’s no wonder the EP’s artwork takes visual cues from the drift-driving community in Amman, Jordan.

Speaking about the significance of incorporating Kurdish instrumentation into his music, Muskila says: “Kurds currently live under a tremendous amount of pressure. My aim with my music is to create more awareness around the Kurdish struggle for independence.

New Hit alert with this banger from Nas Tea and Warning family member JCow. Their track "(So) Divine" comes as part of the latest Raiders compiliation. Curated by jpeg.love the release puts the focus on voices, while working with original material and no samples. The catchy vocals of Nas Tea go super well with JCow's unique production and resulting and a fresh piece of music driven by bass and breaks. DJ JM - Abnormal EP

Abnormal is the sound of DJ JM ratcheting it up a notch, both in production-value and musical creativity. The title itself stands as a compact explainer of DJ JM's constant sonic assignment – Abnormal consolidates years of JM's work to keep club music weird and unexpected. Retaining the chunky percussion and quick-stepping rhythms he built his name on, the EP also contains intricate, cleverly designed sound-beds, and extends the menacing electro-techno swagger DJ JM began exploring on his previous No Days Off and Squash EPs.

Preferring synths over samples, Abnormal is filled with sudden bursts of psychedelic melody, off-kilter audio-manipulations and bubbling acid-trip basslines. The tracks also have a subtle but distinctly Lithuanian edge, drawing influence from the iterative, morphing patterns of the folk symbols and insignia carved into the remains of ancient settlements near Vilnius.
'Syze' bounces melodic percussive riffs across an arpeggiated bassline, with synth flourishes and talking drums squeezed in between. 'Pepper' has DJ JM's trademark high-energy vocal chants and a thick, slamming bassline. The title track, 'Abnormal', is perhaps the most stripped back, building a weighty atmosphere through increasingly choppy perc stabs. 'Erazer' closes out the EP with ducking filtered pads and sliding scales through an industrial rhythm section. Each one stands as a "wtf was that?!" set highlight, a vortex of wild ideas in a club-primed package.
