New music, new energy - Critical is proud to unleash the latest edition of cutting-edge sonics from its ever-evolving roster of talent.

Featuring 21 tracks that encompass the full Critical sound, ‘New Energy Vol 2’ combines fresh music from core label acts with productions from the imprint’s latest wave of recent contributors and fledgling artists.

Emperor’s ‘Jealousy’, ‘Close To You’ from label boss Kasra, YANO’s ‘Drained’ and Particle’s link-up with MC Verbz on ‘Stay The Night’ bring the late-night soul amongst a collection of tracks conceived for and born from the darkest corners of the dance floor.

There are tough, no nonsense and expertly crafted rhythms from well established names Enei, Calyx, T>I and Samurai Breaks (who debut on Critical with the manically experimental ‘Lemon Poppers’).

As always with Critical, though, the focus here is firmly on the future, with the bulk of tracks coming from the many newer names who have debuted on the label and its talent-shaping offshoot Binary over the last couple of years.

Unashamedly heavy, deliciously brutal rhythms come from the likes of SMG, VISLA, ABLE and QZB, alongside stepping grooves from En:Vy & Molecular with ‘Black Opal’ and Waeys & Azumai’s ‘Doggy Marriage’, plus template troubling, experimental crushers from Spectral on ‘TurboWave’ and Napes’ grime inspired ‘Balaclava’.

Reaching right across the sonic spectrum - ‘New Energy Vol 2’ is a panoramic perspective of electronic music’s most forward-thinking genre.

Yannons is back, and we couldn't be more excited to present his third solo release, Turn To Talk EP! This time, he’s brought the whole TA family along with Geostatic, Koax, and London-based MC Peas, making it extra special.

Since his debut on Transparent Audio in 2020 as the second artist to release on the label, Yannons has become a cornerstone of our family. Watching him evolve as an artist and producer over the years, with many incredible releases and live shows, has led to his journey unravelling. We’re truly honoured to continue being his platform.

The Turn To Talk EP perfectly showcases Yannons’ sound: deep, techy, and minimal, with all the qualities that have made him such a key part of our journey from the very start.

Following an impressive debut release for Critical’s talent brewing sub-label Binary in 2024, SMG steps up in uncompromising mood, with the three-track ‘Cloaked’ EP.

The title track draws you in with the eeriest of atmospherics before collapsing into a sharp, stepping groove that swoons and stretches from the despicably rough to the satisfyingly smooth.

‘Suku’ brings the cinematics - melding mystical, dreamy moods and foreboding spoken-word samples with a silky sub-bassline that gently twists and growls its way through endless sonic textures.

‘Halogator’ takes things harder, with SMG linking with fellow Critical producer Waeys to close the EP with a punishing crunch, taking things nasty with a snarling, bickering bassline and splashing drums.
