The second instalment of Critical’s ‘rmx_series’ arrives with another batch of sonic reflections on some of the label’s key releases of recent years.

The rapidly rising En:vy is handed the keys to Enei, Kasra and MC Jakes’ 2019 collaboration, ’Transmission’; reworking the original in his typically tightly wound, funk-dripping style for a strict lesson in minimal jump-up drum & bass.

‘Roadblock’ - YANNO & VISLA’s storming collaboration from 2023 - gets the VIP treatment next, stripping back the busy drums and razing synths that defined the OG for a cleaner, stepping groove that lets MC Sparkz’s ferocious bars really sparkle.
Finally, one of the latest inductees into the Critical camp, latesleeper, makes just her second appearance on the label by transforming VISLA’s monstrous ‘RAKKA’ into an intricate dark-side roller with a solid sonic nod at early-90s jungle and hardcore.
