Iptamenos Discos is back with another collaborative EP by label heads Local Suicide, who have once again teamed up with Skelesys to provide their stunning ‘In Space We Roam’ EP.
The four-track EP includes two original tracks and two remixes by Psycho Weazel and Neu-Romancer. It will be available on limited 12” vinyl, all streaming & download platforms and is set to release on August 4th, 2023.
This scorching new offering follows the trio’s highly acclaimed sensation ‘Moustache’, which amassed an impressive quarter-million streams on Spotify alone and garnered support from renowned artists like Erol Alkan, Joyce Muniz and Curses among others. Far from slowing down, the trio also released EPs together on Snap, Crackle & Pop, Samo Records and on compilations by Eskimo Recordings, Ombra INTL, Logical Records and Sum Over Histories. 
DJ/Producer duo & couple, and Iptamenos Discos label founders Brax Moody and Vamparela, make up Local Suicide. They are known for coining the term ‘Technodisco’, which describes their influential and distinctive sound that combines elements of New Wave, EBM, Disco, and Techno. Joining them once again in this project is their long-time friend and collaborator, Skelesys, a Berlin-based Argentinian producer, DJ, and live act. Drawing inspiration from a myriad of influences, including hard rock, sci-fi and horror, his works straddle the line between post-punk, wave and future influences, resulting in a trademark genre-blending and unmistakable sound.
The first tune and title track ‘In Space We Roam’, focuses on a dark rolling baseline and soft mystical vocals that suggest “the future is now”. Accompanied with punchy drums, floaty synths, and glitchy spaceship like sounds, this tune is sure to take you in to a space of your own. The intricate combination of layers evokes images of a galactic journey towards an uncertain fate. Rising from the ether, a delicate melody intertwines around sorrowful sirens to bring a glimmer of hope to the track. This tune aims to make the listener feel that we are all part of a journey together. Forever adapting and changing in ourselves, we are also sure to feel a collective sense of growth and discovery. No one is alone in the moments that we roam. 
The second track, ‘Surface of the Sun’ is a hot one. Pun...intended. Diverging from the softer and mystical vocals of the title song, this tune moves us towards the dark side. A forceful, mysterious and punchy baseline is accompanied by a deep vocal, grooving synths and lush pads to make you feel, well, hot. This is the kind of tune that you want to hear when everyone is feeling collectively sweaty and sexy. Like the sun melts all that enters too close, this tune is sure to melt you too. 
Hailing from Switzerland, the rising duo Psycho Weazel provide a darkly beautiful remix of the ‘In Space We Roam’, showcasing the intricate style that earned them collaborations with labels and venues worldwide.

' Angé makes her debut on Wrong Era with the slick 'Daydream'. A record filled with instantly signature bass hooks and celestial soundscapes that encapsulate her dark, driving, energy-fueled vision. This vision is evident from the get-go with the anthemic 'Daydream'. A pulsating and undoubtedly infectious floor filler with captivating, eerie vocals. The cascading arps of '5AM' follow this tone, flowing in and out of acidic synthesis and piercing percussion. 

'Kevin' is charged with slick post-punk and flashes of shoegaze in the guitar work, amongst powerful vocal cuts and metallic synth lines. 'Sans Nom' is the perfect conclusion to 'Daydream', with an ever-evolving bassline and haunting choral lines. The Estonian producer, selector and co-founder of Tallinn's renowned Dark Disco event series has created a distinctive release with elegant cohesion, leaving us eager for another dive into her sonic realm. The praised “Acid Avengers” series of the Brittany-based label Tripalium Corp reaches its thirtieth edition. A massive landmark, we would say. For the occasion, the French powerhouse welcomes none other than three beloved duos: Starting with the one & only Italian superstars Hard Ton (SXDNS176) in collaboration with brilliant Latvian everybody’s darling Queer On Acid, and British second-to-none Posthuman. The gang came up with a stunning four-track vinyl – plus a digital bonus – “mixing vicious Techno, hypnotic 303 lines, Acid House gimmicks, and psychedelic vocals.” As you might have imagined, the beasts here are intended for exclusive dance-floor use. Living room administration may trigger unexpected reactions from your neighbours: They will either call the police or join you for a little indoor (never-killed-nobody) bender, depending on the kind of people who surround your dwelling.

Premiered here, “B_Ass” is one of the most dangerous cuts of the soiree because of its, yeah, “motherf*cking bass”, as mentioned in the minimalistic but imposing lyrics delivered by Hard Ton’s Max vital entrance. It’s truly remarkable how he always manages to offer spot-on vocals for the duet’s productions. Psychedelic synth layers and a sharp acid line complete the theme, one of the highlights of the EP.

In 2004 I was asked to remix Nitzer Ebb’s “Murderous”. I always had an interest in the music labeled as “EBM” including bands like Front 242 and it even had a strong influence on the band that was then started by myself called “Alloy Mental”. It’s always been a simple connection between punk and techno. 

I had long wanted to work with Douglas (J McCarthy) again but we had never actually met each other or spoken before, so it wasn’t until last summer I saw a news story saying that Nitzer Ebb were touring again and it just sparked the thought that I really should try contacting him again. I sent a message and then forgot about it. A few months later I got a message back from him and within a couple of days flights were booked to Belfast and he was coming to spend a few days here writing music with me. We got on extremely well and had an amazing few days talking, drinking and occasionally making music. 

The results are here in this EP. I wanted to capture a take on something punk that is just drums bass and a vocal, while slightly reminiscent of 80’s bands like DAF or Cabaret Voltaire, using a power beat from the famous Linn drum machine so it feels like a kind of stiff disco beat and just stripping everything else away to leave it bare and raw for the dance floor.

Producer Plastico has been experimenting and playing for a long time, with a unique sound. Now he lands on Melómana Records with Ghetto House, an album consists of four original tracks and a remix of the great Alejandro Paz. The album, oriented to the dance floor, is presented with the firm intention of giving a necessary and demanding twist to the dancefloor. The whole of this album is the summary of many days fiddling with exceptional analog synthesizers, until finding a sound full of color, organic and meandering, which manages to filter through each pore of the skin until we are completely electrified. Each track gets the listener out of himself, open his mind and light the flame of hope, in a world where it seems that he has lost all idea of the future. And more, in a situation like the one we are experiencing, such an album is a breath of fresh air. Plastico tries to transmit his particular personality and vital project in this deep and personal Guetto House, timeless and full of strength, to which we will go over time trying to decipher that magical and complex mechanism that manages to transcend all the expectations of dance music.
