Released earlier this summer, ‘What You Need’, the third collaboration between longstanding Eskimo DJ/producer George Bakalakos AKA NTEIBINT & fellow Athenian Matina Sous Peau was a beautiful echo of 70s disco, a sound that Italian producer Spiller has now brought to the fore with his new remix.

Most famous for his massive 2000 hit ‘Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love)’, Spiller has proven himself to be equally adept at crafting underground club classics over the years and with this remix the Italian producer has expertly wielded his scalpel, cutting and looping the track & snatches of the vocals to create a taut, disco-house number.

Understated but undeniably funky, Spiller’s remix of ‘What You Need’ is the perfect track for when you just need to lock the crowd into a hypnotic groove and let them do their thing, perfect for both mirror ball lit dance floors and roller discos alike.

The partners in crime return to their base. French style rocket Cerato and label owner DePulse teamed up again for the next common release. “Cocobolo” comes as rolling dancefloor tool with catchy elements on the tops and with a powerful sub-bass that knows where to groove. Turning around the virtual vinyl, we have a solo monster from Rafael on the flip. “Modulation” is another argument for the peak time, with an easy but very straight bassline and a typical Cerato-vocoder that both introduce the wild and freaking out synthesizer line. JEAHMON! turns up the volume.

Taking a break from his recent string of hit vocal collaborations Athenian producer/ DJ George Bakalakos, AKA **NTEIBINT** returns with *‚True‘*, a new instrumental track that expertly marries a taut, sinuous bass line and 90s house stabs with delicate percussive loops, a rattling drum break and airy vocal samples to sublime effect.
*“I wanted to create a follow up to last year’s Colours and had this idea to try and write, something almost delicate, a kind of ballad that you could easily fit into a set alongside big room tunes on a bass heavy soundsystem,” explains George. “So I was vibing away, combining different sounds and styles from the dance music spectrum and came up with True, a mix and match of breaks and big bass sounds but with these soft and emotional vocal hooks that places it somewhere between R&B and House music territory.”*
The result is a surprisingly subtle leftfield gem, whilst the bass line dominates the track and is sure to sound incredible booming through a club sound system, it’s the additional elements George weaves throughout the track that elevates it to something truly special.

I Started Running from the Sun

Fantasound is the fifth full length album from Slovenian Space Disco producer Ichisan. This debut LP on international label Discolypso follows recent singles Harmona and Margit Mono. Ichisan’s sound is Space Disco Pop Bliss - swooshing synths collide with pulsing rhythms and twinkling melodies, creating a kaleidoscopic universe of pure joy. 

The artist explains the process:

"The album was recorded during the 2020 lockdown period. In those long uncertain days I watched all kinds of movies and rediscovered the ‘1940 Fantasiaʼ with my three year old son. 
I started researching the story behind the production of the animated musical film and especially the sound production of Fantasia. Fantasound was a stereophonic sound reproduction system developed by engineers of Walt Disney and RCA. That is how I found the album title. After the album was recorded I knew that the artwork must be related to Fantasia. I always had ‘The Sorcererʼs Apprenticeʼ in my mind as an inspiration for the album artwork. Mickey Mouseʼs dreams in the dark-blue space and Fantasia poster logo were guidelines. The illustrator Meta Wraber delivered the fantastic artwork in her signature watercolour technique." 

'Fantasound’ is a symphony of disco and italo, space synth waves and a happy-go-lucky driving rhythms. A sound that doesn't exist in the real world, the Fantasound is very much alive and in our mind during our happiest moments. 

After teasing with several EPs, Ichisan blesses the world via Discolypso with the full Fantasound, an immersive ecstatic experience filled with twists and turns that will keep you on your Tip Top toes.

Ichisan - Luisa

Joining the dots between Brazilian musical culture and the sonic melting pot that is New York City, Saidêra are a trio on the rise. They’ve already released a pair of critically acclaimed, carnival-ready singles on Brooklyn’s Let’s Play House label and are now ready to make their debut on Leng Records.

The band’s roots can be traced back to a trip that Lemonade band member Alex Pasternak made to Brazil in 2014. While DJing at a house party in the bohemian Rio de Janeiro neighbourhood of Sta Teresa, Pasternak was left gobsmacked when a mysterious local singer/sambista Vadinho Freire, grabbed the mic and started freestyling lyrics and melodies over his set. Realising their instinctive musical connection, Pasternak and Freire decided to work together on some music, with New Yorker Le Chev joining them to complete the Saidêra trio.

Now based in Rio and California, the group’s sun-soaked sound – which they describe as “samba disco-Afro melody” – is a cross-cultural stew in which infectious Brazilian percussion, colourful synth sounds, glistening guitars and celebratory vocals combine to create magical, life-affirming musical moments.

‘Luzes Da Cidade’, their first outing on Leng, encapsulates all that’s good about the Saidêra sound and the trio’s approach to music. The song is about identity and connection and in its original form is languid, loved-up and joyous, with acoustic and electric guitars, Portuguese vocals and Korey Riker’s gently breezy flute solos rising above a squelchy synth bassline and energetic, sweat-soaked samba drums.

The song’s main mix comes accompanied by a wonderful instrumental pass featuring more extensive solos by Riker, and Saidêra’s own remix of ‘Luzes Da Cidade’ – an extra-percussive, breakbeat-tinged fusion of hazy deep house, energetic samba and sunset-ready synth-disco that will delight DJs and dancers alike.

To round off the EP, Saidêra have delivered a brand new “Uprockin Dub” of debut single ‘Deixa Tudo Fluir’, this time with female vocals from Irina Bertolucci taking the lead. Brilliantly kaleidoscopic sonically, with dub delay-laden vocals, guitars and flutes, it’s a superb, life-affirming Balearic reggae interpretation of a now familiar favourite. If you’re not singing along with the chorus after your first listen, we’d be very surprised.
