Premiere: Maoupa Mazzocchetti - Bleached Childhood [UNEX001]

Bound By Endogamy is a duo based in Geneva, Switzerland, active since 2019. It consists of Shlomo Balexert and Kleio Thomaïdes (also vocalist for Savage Grounds since 2021). Both musicians come from the squat/ punk scene. In live performance, their project is reduced to a drum kit, a sampler, and female vocals. It has been described as a cross between DAF and Kleenex with a hardcore background. They released their first 7’’ on Lux Rec last year.

Ladislav Zensor (Exhausted Modern, Oblaka) is a Czech musician and sound designer. His interest in music dates back to the early 2000s when he fell under the spell of illegal rave parties during their golden age in the Czech Republic. After a number of years experimenting with DJing, music production, and street art, his primary focus shifted to music in 2007. In 2011, he spearheaded the Endless Illusion record label, releasing music from underground artists based in the Czech Republic and beyond, putting on regular events, and gaining international recognition. After a decade in existence, he brought the label to a timely close in 2021 and joined forces with the new LTE records project. Ladislav is a prolific producer, releasing music on the likes of Brokntoys and Veyl, has presented his live set at Lunchmeat festival and in countries across Europe, and is a resident of Ankali, Prague’s reigning night club for electronic music. Also known as Layup, Exhausted Modern, and Oblaka, Ladislav has used different monikers to explore and transform his style of production throughout his music career. He’s now trying his hand at commercial and theatrical work, and is collaborating with the contemporary dance group 420PEOPLE.

"bijū arose from the need to explore the intersection of machine and body. The need to blur the boundaries between dehumanized electronic sound and the natural environment. Its selection is a constant search between minimalist and dense, dynamic and slow, sharp and blurry sounds.

The album presents strength of vision in artist's style and that is aesthetics of dystopian future, where slow motion martial marches meet ghostly rituals, cleverly blended with synth melancholy enriched by echoes of psychedelia and industrial rawness. An attempt to reach the undefined emotions between commotion and anger, sublimity and thrill, which, along with grief and hatred were brought by the war in his homeland in Ukraine.

As part of the Warsaw based Ukrainian collective SUMISH wants to strengthen interactions between people through synergies, exchange of vision and knowledge, building bridges between the migrant community and local society through the different creative disciplines. Author of the program Gnostic Methods, dedicated to slow-rolling and experimental electronic music - every month on Radio Kapitał."

PREMIERE: bijū - Escaping To The Desert (Sons Of Traders)

2023 and Frigio return to one of their flagship collection series, Frigio Allstars. This fifth installment marks a new venture for the label with a spread of different styles explored by old friends and new monikers.

One fresh pseudonym is Starhawk & Friends, known from Vol. 1 as I-Land Beat, who offers up a broken beat belter guaranteed to put crooked smiles on faces. Returnees include Rambal Cochet with the rap infused elegance of “Metacortex” while Sons of Traders digs deep into dissonance and distortion for “I Don’t Inspire Hope.” Jack Carel is back after his appearance on Vol. 4 with two tracks that range from the hiphop inspired strings and snares of “4 Seasons” to genre bending daredevilry of “Friday Rocks." Delivering a stripped back New Beaty beast, Neud Photo returns to the series with “Spark Knock” which bares its teeth through a haze of static and angular melodies. Warped patterns and lost language are the chosen tools for a hypno-trip from Textbeak Defa Voctave before the industrial undercurrents of Death Posture (Daniel Holt to some) leads us out of a 12” that explores a spectrum of sounds across its eight tracks.

The Edit was made some time ago, this track has 2 official edits, one made by the label released with their box version of Cal Ranch's EP, and a long original version by the artist, we like both but we figured out we could have one edit with our favourite moments of this piece, i made it to be played in some concerts and now I'm sharing here in the cloud.

On 26 February, hundreds of Israeli settlers went on a violent late-night rampage in Huwara and other villages in the northern West Bank, leaving one local resident dead and 100 others injured and the town ablaze.

This compilation of music was put together in order to raise funds that can hopefully give some aid to the residents of Huwara, all of the proceeds Confused Machines make from digital sales will go directly to Physicians For Human Rights – Israel (PHRI) www.phr.org.il An NGO that works in the occupied Palestinian territory, promoting Palestinians' right to health and providing direct medical and humanitarian assistance.

The compilation hosts a roster of both local and international artists spanning a wide spectrum of leftfield electronic music. Acid, Drone, Noise, Downtempo, Techno, SoundCollage and more.
All of these tracks are new and have not been heard before, many of them have been created with Huwara and Palestine in mind.

Though we know our reach is limited, we see this as a part of a bigger political effort to help raise awareness in our artistic circles and set motion to positive forces in dark times.

This song was created by sampling a few parts of Never Die (Extended) by Lashia & Sergio Rincon, most notably, I kept the riser and drop from the original track and turned the first note of the main riff into a bass stab. No more than 60 seconds of the original track was used as per the licensure agreement. Around 1:07, the rise and drop come in dragging from the offbeat and quickly resolving back to the downbeat. This is a remnant from the original track that I opted to keep because it adds subtle tension and grabs your attention in a way that does not throw the entire track off (plus, it helps me fulfill the time limit agreement ;)/SOME traces of the original track must be subtly present)

This is a tech house track that incorporates elements of deep house, synthwave via a rolling bassline to add motion, progressive house, and disco. Another layered track, this one is also a bit challenging to master and may or may not be above my current mixing capabilities. The "Wall of Wurlis" also makes a return for this track as a subtle background keyboard.

It is repetitive, yes, but it's techno after all. You create motion and changes via layering rather than chord progressions or melodies, although this one is more melodic than most due to it containing house and disco elements within it. This is also why it contains two drops and why there are several sound effects thrown in here and there throughout the track, including bass squelches, a gong, a reverse crash, a phaser on some tracks, etc. This is a frequent comment I get, which I 100% agree with, and it's absolutely accurate & I always appreciate constructive feedback as this is CRITICAL to putting out good music on the market. Likewise, I enjoy being transparent/upfront with audiences and listeners, and I want to acknowledge that I do take feedback into account, and it has helped me big time. In some cases, it's an intentional/desired effect, such as with this song/too many changes to the track's melody/chord progressions, and it's not techno anymore. The toughest part is finding that balance so you retain that hypnotic effect while keeping the track interesting and engaging.
