Our newest story comes from Augenstein, a very talented producer and DJ from Halle Germany. He has caught our attention with his latest EP on renowned label Random Collective wich came out early this year. His music is a mixture of spacey, downpitched sounds, melodic and organic ingridients, all held together with deep and seductive basslines. This set here is an offer from him shortly before his next release on Echoes From Venus, we can't wait to give you soon an EP with three wonderful creations from Augenstein.

Просто Хаус (feat. YASASHI)

Originally from Paju South Korea, bela (they/them) is a musician
and a performance artist based in Berlin. They are known for
electronic music performance merging pungmul - a Korean folk act
rooted in agricultural traditions and linked to past social
movements - and vocals inspired by extreme metal. bela shapes
pungmul into the ritual for queer rage and grief with sub-heavy
distortions and cries.

Since moving to Berlin in the autumn of 2022, bela has been
announced as a participant of SHAPE+ Platform 23'-24'. They have
presented their work across different stages in Europe including
Berghain, Trauma Bar und Kino, Schauspielhaus Zürich, Cafe OTO,
A4 Bratislava among many others. They have performed in
experimental music festivals CTM Festival(DE), Ephemera(PL),
Unsound Kraków(PL), and Rewire Festival(NL). They also
participated in European art festivals transmediale(DE) and EVA
International(IE). bela is a co-runner of Sorrow Club: a mixed event
series spanning from music to non-music.

Intonal Radio Show w. bela [SHAPE+ artist] [16.02.2024]

The Brussels-based electronic music composer is the co-founder of Plapla Pinky, a duo noted for their atypical approach to club music, somewhere between rave, baroque and contemporary music. However, for some years now, his solo work has focused on church organs. In 2020, he released Solarium on the Belgian label Vlek: this organ-centric record relies on the emotional potency of sunrise to spawn an experience that is both musical and social. Two years later, he presented Nachthorn, a new LP for MIDI church organ. Critically acclaimed – notably by Boomkat which selected it in their top ten records of 2022 – it was also chosen as the soundtrack for the Chanel Haute Couture fashion show in January 2023. For this edition of Intonal, the SHAPE+ artist will perform on the MIDI organ of St Petri Church.

Intonal Radio Show w. Maxime Denuc [SHAPE+ artist] [08.03.2024]

Brought together under the Intonal SHAPE+ residency, Prins Emanuel, Maja Li Härdelin and Cucina Povera answer questions and play an hour of weird, moody and quietly adventurous tunes, spanning from favourite video game music, pioneers of electronics, through to spinning metal discs, languid sun-bleached vocals and dubbed out blisses. For the daisy counters, the chicken-minders and the ponderous observers of everyday golden cobwebs and window-trapped wanderers.

Intonal Radio Show w. Prins Emanuel, Cucina Povera and Maja Li Härdelin [SHAPE+] [22.03.2024]

In advance of the world premieres at Intonal of these two new SHAPE+ Platform-supported collaborations, Mutant presents radio specials delving into each of them, featuring interviews with the artists plus collaborative mixes.

First, the long distance duo of Berlin-based Bridget Ferrill and Copenhagen-based Áslaug Magnúsdóttir, accompanied by experimental choreographer/dancer Olivia Rivière. The existing duo is known for deconstructing classical components, fragmenting and incorporating them into intimate arrangements, pushing the boundaries of composition. Rivière experiments with obscure vocal-techniques, delving into their materiality and sensory resonance.

Intonal Radio Show w. Bridget Ferrill, Áslaug Magnúsdóttir and Olivia Rivière [SHAPE+]  [22.03.2024]

Producer, composer, costume designer, and performance artist, Bristol’s Sarahsson fuses hedonistic club with guttural noise, euphoric trance, and neoclassical composition. Dealing in extremes, she draws inspiration as much from the natural world as from gore and harsh noise: themes of bodies being contorted, ripped apart, and combined anew create beautiful and painful scenarios. Rather than using pre-made samples, she creates her own transforming field recordings of marsh reeds and whispers into percussion; she also built her own daxophone, a bowed instrument which under her ritual conjures monstrous blasts and wails.

Liebe Musik Gemeinschaft!
Dieses so vieles veränderndes Jahr neigt sich seinem Ende zu….. und ein neues steht vor der Türe.
Dies mit dem Vorteil, dass wir uns auf einiges neues Einstellen können und offen dafür sind, dass nichts mehr so sein wird, wie es war. 
Das ist es sowieso, jedes Jahr, jede Stunde, jeder Moment…….
Die Musik wird uns auch in den kommenden Monaten weiter erfüllen, verbinden, erfreuen uns in magische Welten führen, uns durch was immer auch kommt, begleiten.

So’ham  hat uns einen Ausklang und gleichzeitig Einklang dieses Übergangs kreiert. 
Mit ‘A Lucid Guide For The Waking Dreamer’ nimmt er uns an die Hand, auf eine sensible Reise. Er gibt uns Zeit und Abstand zur Geschichte die gerade abläuft, schenkt uns eine musikalische Anleitung, den Raum zwischen Traum und Erwachen zu beleuchten.

Wir fühlen uns geehrt mit So’ham dieses Jahr beschliessen zu dürfen. Als eines der drei Herzen von Urban Cosmonat Radio, einem der innovativsten Kollektive für feine Musik, als  Produzent mit Talent und ‘Weltweitsicht’, einem Magier an den Decks und tiefsinnigem Gespür musikalische Geschichten erzählen zukönnen.

Dear music community!
This so much changing year is drawing to a close ... .. and a new one is just around the corner.
This has the advantage that we can adjust to some new things and are open to the fact that nothing will be the same as it was before.
That's it anyway, every year, every hour, every moment …….
Music will continue to fill us, connect us, delight us, lead us into magical worlds, accompany us through whatever comes.

So’ham has created a conclusion and at the same time harmony of this transition.
With ‘A Lucid Guide For The Waking Dreamer’ he takes us by the hand on a sensitive journey. It gives us time and distance to the story that is currently going on, gives us musical instructions to illuminate the space between dream and awakening.

We feel honored to be able to end this year with So’ham. To be able to tell musical stories as one of the three hearts of Urban Cosmonat Radio, one of the most innovative collectives for fine music, as a producer with talent and ‘worldwide view’, a magician on the decks and a profound sense.
