030303 co-founder Freek Fabricius made this record in honour of his friend Floris Bovée who passed away early in 2020. For the EP, Freek took some of Floris’ musical ideas and reworked them - together with samples of Floris’ voice - into four excellent mid-tempo tracks for the emotional dance floor. Expect dense and organic harmonies on this record, which really feels like a mini album and is among some of the most heartfelt and poetic electronic music we have come across as of late.

A. Certo is the alias of Brussels-based Artūras Čertovas. A multidisciplinary artist and avid sound explorer, with a distinct musical comprehension. Artūras explains that his musical inspirations come from his current life in Brussels, from regular explorations of the DIY music scene and discovering places there. "It is also interesting to self-reflectively observe how meeting people, discovering bands, traveling, and changing living spaces influence my oeuvre as a selector", he adds. 

The selection for Insurgency is a connection between the artist's childhood, him hanging out with his cassette player in his yard, and the time four years ago, when he started his first radio show, having a vision of playing music from the 80s underground cassette culture, though he mentions not having too much attachment to this vision. To quote the artist: “Through the past couple of years of actively practicing, I have played a lot of different music, indefinitely by genre or time. I just play what I love; usually, it is music that touches my inner world and makes my body feel alive. I see this activity as part of my spiritual journey.
It happened that this mix is full of old cassette culture music and I believe there is only one contemporary musician, Naomie Klaus, whose music I was exposed to while sharing the same city.”
