We're super geeked to welcome Ninasupsa aka Nina Bochorishvili to the GF series this week. This immensely talented DJ is one of the founders of Mutant Radio and a resident DJ at Bassiani/Horoom in Tbilisi. Together with an impressive team consisting of Tata and many other talented individuals, this forward-thinking crew bootstrapped an online station and grew this into one of the most prominent platforms in the scene. It's set up in a wagon and located at a former power station in Tbilisi, Georgia. Here they've crafted and developed their distinct mutant sound and host radio shows by Low Bat, who is a key contributor to the station, Diamin, Sons of Traders, Newworldaquarium, Robert Bergman, our own Bertram, and many others. They also invest heavily in their local community and never shy away from sharing their political views. Whether hosting takeovers in Garage Noord here in Amsterdam or Sameheads in Berlin, Ninasupsa and her team continue to spread the mutant gospel and we couldn't be happier about it. The final podcast of 2022 comes from the producer, selector and up-and-coming film scorer Poperttelli AKA Jonathan Cambefort. The Frenchman has been active in the scene for more than 7 years, co-running the cassette-focused label Maturre in Berlin as well as releasing full EPs on Brokntoys, Lost Dogs Entertainment, and dozen of singles and remixes on other platforms. With a keen ear for melody, Poperttelli’s versatile vision can seamlessly bring together anything from grubby electro or industrial EBM to hypnotic or even funky drifts. Poperttelli’ DT podcast 198 is full of well-executed changes of style and tone as well as evocative soundscapes, shaping up a great listening experience in the midst of the current winter gloominess. We've also spoken with the artist about his upbringing, post-pandemic thoughts and music ventures.

Since learning the ropes in Glasgow’s underground with early releases on Optimo Music and a residency at the famous Art School club, Thomas Lea Clarke aka https://soundcloud.com/mrtcmusic has spent the past 10 years delving into the recesses of experimental electronic club music with his own productions, playing live shows, doing some remixes, mixing and meeting a lot of people along the way. We first met in 2016 both spinning at a Blue Cheese party. These days he works at a radio station and tends to https://soundcloud.com/phasegroup, the label he started with Lo Kindre.

His hobbies are spending time on his own recording sounds, or to be with close ones, eating something good, having a drink and sharing a moment. He runs to keep fit and likes spending time in nature whenever he can. He's easily distracted, not sure if that’s a bad thing though - if he's good at working on multiple things at once, or bad at focusing on one thing at a time.

His mix meanders through some kind of dreamspace with ghostly appearances. He's in no hurry but quickly grabs you by the throat. 'Wherever you may go in life… just don't stop the dance'

NOSE JOB 38 — MR TC

The venerable Dark Entries celebrates it’s 300th release with Panoramic Coloursound, a triple LP from the Creative Technology Consortium. Traxx, Andrew Bisenius, and Jason Letkiewicz forged the CtC during the depths of pandemic isolation. Drawing from film and television music of the 80’s/90’s and armed with a mighty array of vintage analog and digital synthesizers, they set out to explore heists, vices, and catastrophe. Panoramic Coloursound collapses sound and image into a neon blur throughout its 25 tracks.
While retro scores were the starting point for the CtC, the project does more than pay dutiful homage — these notes are warped and skewed, devolving into decaying digital soundscapes. EBM-inflected basslines pop up on tracks like “Catastrophe” and “A Retro Vice”, menacing numbers that recall Traxx and Letkiewicz’s legendary work as Mutant Beat Dance (a project also featuring Beau Wanzer). “Follow Our Kode” pairs heroic synths with funky bass, striking cosmic chords akin to the material that Traxx and Bisenius have released as An Anomaly. Krautrock-esque guitars slide along anthemic pads on “Beautifully Polluted Sunset”, which comes across like an alien Miami Vice closing theme. The CtC channel corroded VHS vibes while making music for the future. Panoramic Coloursound was mastered by Frédéric Alstadt. The sleeve was designed by Eloise Leigh, and features a photograph by Jason Letkiewicz. Also included is a postcard featuring liner notes, a gear list, and a photograph by Maria Tzeka

Budnikaitė is a Vilnius based visual artist and the co-founder of Insurgency, a label and podcast series focusing on the depths of beat-driven underground industrial and experimental expression of sound. 

She is an honest musical enthusiast, attracted to the bizzare and unorthodox sounds, and constantly inspired by the 80s DIY underground cassette movements. Her introduction to music started at early childhood with her mother being a musicologist, this affected her deep concentration and effort into understanding the complexity of sound. 

Nowadays Budnikaite is the head of curating Insurgency and an occasional DJ looking to explore the hardly visible barriers between contemporary club music, downtempo beats and leftfield.
