C. Coiffure - Trees Used To Speak At Dawn (Yushh Remix)

CHLORYS, a musical & visual entity based in Bucharest, part of Queer Night family, Shape Platform artist in 2017, and since 2016 until present, a founding member of Corp. platform, its main focus on representing and promoting queer identities (trans, nonbinary etc.). She has streched her tentacles also locally, and also internationally, having played shows in Berlin, Stockholm, London, Paris, Lyon, Nantes. She has been a Noods Radio resident for three years, in charge of Alien Flora and a host on the local radio Black Rhino together with Corp, hosting a monthly show called Corpcast. Aside from being active on the local clubbing scene, she also tinkers with the visual and sound arts.

Maximilian Klee, curator behind today’s showcase. He is based in Berlin, where he works as Designer, browses for records and rides his bike. Despite meandering around for years, Max is no mainstay or prominent figure, but merely a kind ghost on the dance floor, cracking that smirky smile from across the bar.

blondewednesday Grime and macabre are named for her nursery-rhyme preference though the sweet-natured side could not be hidden. The ears never turn-off. So she hunts sounds to revive in the dark again. There is a kind of serenity. She found herself the way she wants to live.

Last act from the show curated by great @maximilian.klee is Julia Mira ia multidisciplinary artist from Estonia based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Inspired by a background in painting, as a DJ Julia Mira takes up music as her palette. Her selections are utterly unpredictable, layering bold brushstrokes of raw industrial-tinged synth with euphoric rave and experimental ambient interludes. Approaching each set like a canvas, a blend of sensations is evoked, leaving sensual, imaginative space for lucid dreams, vivid stories, and an air of mystery to arise.

@mxpinky, one of the caring queers behind the Berlin Collective Action, is a thoughtful and skilled selector. they deliver us a 2 hour long wavy curation of bass, rhythm and sass. as fresh as it is fun and unpredictable, this mix is a much needed breath of air setting the mood for better days coming.

At some point in the early morning the collective pulse in the room shifted. Gone the rollercoaster of the peak hours. Sweat gave way to the fog of the hazy hours, and the crowd has evolved to those in need of undulating epiphanies. This is the stage on which fabric92 unfolds.

"I love playing every hour of the night. However the late hours seemed strangely under represented within this series, and I thought it would be good to start there instead of using this opportunity to add another peak time chapter to the collection."

In a few years this versatility has marked the London born Call Super as one of the brightest new lights on the DJ landscape. His rise has been steady and remarkable, reinforced at every stage with music that draws on a panoply of influences. The son of a New Orleans jazz clarinetist, his curiosity for music was driven by a childhood playing Spanish guitar and the piano before being burnished through teenage revelations in the London club scene.

"The fabric mix series has played an influential role in my learning of my craft. As influential to me as the club itself. The discs recorded by Ellen Allien, Craig Richards, Robert Hood, James Murphy and Pat Mahoney all taught me quite distinct things about track selection and pacing that I think about to this day. The John Peel one became an elegy that I still remember him by as much as his radio shows that I used to listen to. Because of this I wanted my mix to do a few things. Primarily I wanted it to be highly personal, a Polaroid of my way of mixing records. Because my own technique has been influenced by other discs in the series, I had to capture the way I sometimes play in a club."

And that is what this mix is, the sound of a DJ who has drawn in so much in finding their own voice. Records layered and sliced with a deft array of techniques and a singular vision for the room and the time they are operating in. fabric92 eschews the common computer based approach and gives the listener a snapshot of a misty reality. Music should give you a better context for the everyday, it should elate, it should make you angry, sad, it heightens life. This understanding is at the root of Call Super's work, though with this recording he puts it differently:

"For the listener, I simply wanted the music to take you out to sea so we could watch the weather together. This isn’t about getting beat upside the head, this is us dreaming in the dawn."
