Clang is a term coined by American Composer, James Tenney to describe a musical unit composed of discreet elements that come together to form a cohesive and singular sonic event. By creating sounds as clearly defined shapes, coming together to make bombastic and clearly defined forms - this record can be thought of as a sonic cartoon aimed not at as sophisticated sonic experience, but sophisticated perceptual one.

Metaphore Collective’s crew pillar, Meta Zone-Libre’s programmer and resident, Marseille’s alternative scene true activist, it is in this city that he spent his childhood immersed in the grunge and techno 90 ‘s CDs of his mother. Later, losing himself in the sweaty concert halls of downtown Marseille, he experiences his first personal musical emotions: punk, metal, krautrock, industrial music and extreme. He began to learn drums, before studying concrete music at the Conservatoire de Marseille.

Today, it is all this baggage he carries around in each of his DJ sets with the need to propose a surprising crossing between eras and genres. Lovers of breakbeat, he likes to mix his influences with those of sci-fi culture of electro for a rave no-limit and universal.

He walked further and further, and each step took him closer to his fate. The sound that the leaves made as they crunched under his footsteps was the only thing that could be heard. It was pitch black now, and a fear he had never felt before sunk deep into his stomach. Where had everybody gone? His arms were stretched out in front him, finding trees, branches, and bushes in the darkness that guided him to nowhere. The hairs on the back of his neck stood up straight as he felt a warm wind pass through him. “Are you lost?”

Leeds producer Lawrence Nash unveils a new alias, ZiyiZ, who has built his own mysterious world through visual and audio. Referring to himself as an "archivist", a collector of objects who is merely facilitating a story, his new moniker comes to life for the first time with five tracks on Manchester/Berlin-based label Failed Units. The release, titled Rescue & Research Pt. 3, traverses the psychedelic outer-rims of techno and bass, with our pick “Entity Preferences,” exhibiting the latter.
