Comet Nishimura, also known as C/2023 P1, was first spotted falling rapidly toward the sun on Aug. 12 by amateur Japanese astronomer Hideo Nishimura. The icy object has a green glow caused by high levels of dicarbon in its coma — the cloud of gas and dust that surrounds its solid core. Nishimura has survived its close encounter with the sun and begun its journey back into the outer reaches of the solar system. Once gone, it won’t return for around 430 years.

This was recorded live on 2 mics in 1991 on a Tascam 4-track cassette recorder. Fun to hear ones like this bc it brings back memories of that time right after college when Morry and I would play at some local open mics etc. We were clearly still working things out but having fun. Hope our SC enjoy and are doing well.

On this song, I sang all the lyrics and the melodies backwards. Then reversed the recording (of the vocals).

First I always learned to merely say each section of the lyrics backwards, without focusing on the melody, just speaking.
Once I was able to say it backwards correctly, I recorded myself singing it forwards and reversed it to learn how the melody sounds backwards, until I was able to sing the lyrics and melody backwards, so that it sounds right when the recording is reversed. The result is what you’re hearing in this song, with all my vocals being played in reverse throughout the whole song.
