For the final Phase Group Mix of 2022 we invite Loma Doom from Amsterdam to the series. 

Loma Doom - real name Femke Dekker - lives in Amsterdam where she's a vital member of the music scene, a seasoned digger and radio host as well as a curator and educator of contemporary art. Her dedication to radio is quite amazing, holding residencies on Radio Tempo Nao Para, Echobox Radio and Stranded FM as well as Ja Ja Ja Nee Nee Nee, an online radio station dedicated to art.

For her Phase Group Mix she has gifted us with an expertly composed deep listening experience. One hour of shamanic trance moving through dark droning soundscapes, tribal percussion and ancient voices chanting echoing incantations, recorded live at the Radio Tempo Nao Para studios in Amsterdam. John Balance and Peter Christopherson (ex-members of such famous acts as 23 Skidoo and Current 93) were a part of the notorious Psychic TV before creating Coil in 1983. Inspired by ritual practice, transformation, and musical exploration, Coil left their indelible mark on several generations of musicians and listeners. Their musical journeys, oftentimes serene, impulsive, or cinematic, always subscribed to the counter currents, as they ceaselessly opened new possibilities - as timeless as they were modern. This recording, never released before, featured Christopherson and longtime associate Thighpaulsandra. A great loss for music,  both Christopherson and Balance have since passed away.

In the realm of De Kat Memwa series, the musical milieu has undergone a remarkable transformation since 2018. The rare beats and curious chords have evolved into a more intricate and sophisticated soundscape, intent on stimulating an array of emotions and cognitive responses, from tranquil reveries to incisive musings.

Despite these changes, one aspect remains constant: the meticulous curation of guests. Each selector invited to join the series represents a fount of inspiration, overflowing with boundless talent and expertise, all of which I deeply admire and hold in the highest esteem.

So I'm extremely happy that today we have a guest mix recorded by Frank from Berlin. A man of many guises and talents. You may know him as Frans Æmbient or A Method To Exist. In our series, unveils his latest sonic endeavour T.V.S.T. (TV IS TERRIBLE) project in which he constructs a hauntological reality with pearls from the scrapyard. 

Frank is also the visionary mastermind behind the experimental label and mix series Kashual Plastik, a cherished haven for adventurous researchers, outsiders and mavericks alike. 

Moreover, he curates the musical palette at the Arkaoda Berlin, one of the world's most daring and multidimensional venues.

Scrying the Landscape XIII. Dedicated to particulate bodies, the thirteenth episode of 'Scrying the Landscape' features soundbites from cloudy and sandy fields, and sentimental music for wandering. From accumulated matter to big feelings and turbulent intimacies, this mix drifts beyond the human [at times] to think about 'the tidalectics' of falling apart and holding [it] together. Friends born out of late-night revelling and pandemic living-room rants, together they find respite and a field of inquiry in nearby shores or the memories of more distant ones. The quiet lee-side of the dunes by the North Sea provide shelter and a space to question and practice listening [attunement] and transmission.
