Original Score inspired by the Tade Thompson novel Far from the light of Heaven

Dreamstate - Carmilla one night only

You guessed it: I conducted a jam session, recorded everything and then used Audacity to put the best parts from this sesson together to one single track using only basic audio editing techniques. 

During this particular jam session I used my humble Eurorack together with the Arturia MicroBrute and a ton of modulation. Additionally, I employed a collection of guitar pedals to bring in some effects. The squeeking noises heard throughout the track is the MicroBrute's filter in self-resonance.

The speech sample comes from the stock audio library of the Eurorack module Radio Music and is the voice of Kurt Waldheim, an Austrian diplomat. This greeting was featured on the Voyager Golden Records, two gold plated records which were included aboard both Voyager spacecraft that were launched in 1977.

My submission for the December 2022 Sim Selection monthly challenge of Benn Jordan's discord community.

Theme: A Crack In Time
Keywords: guarded, helpless
Optional Challenge: Time is of the essence. Time is an illusion. Time is money. Time flies.

My compositional idea was to represent multiple time references, all moving forward at their own rate. Inspiration from a Stravinsky score, as well as other modern composers.

Perceptual Gate

I made this track in 1996 for a performance by a fraction of the Oslo Industriensemble. Live, this track was overlayed by a violin and accordion duo. Sounded a bit different from this original track I would say.
Equipment used: A Garrard turntable, a piano and a blackbird. All mixed together on a Fostex XR-5 4-track portastudio.
